What would it take for you to consider the Broncos draft a success? Can John find another Lindsay?Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsWhat would it take for you to consider this draft a success?Luke: Instant day 1 starter with 1st round pick. Improved special teamsScotty: Adding players who fit the scheme in an area of need and/or getting a QB of the future on the roster.Kevin: Bring in guys who aren’t idiots and who will help the culture of the locker room. It’s no secret that since PFM left the atmosphere hasn’t been the greatest. I think they are on their way to fixing that and another good draft would be a big boost to making a winning environment.Joe M: I like the strategy that has been used by the Broncos in the past - draft players who were their team’s leader in college. Also focus on guys who are smart, and durable. The approach of drafting a host of players who are injured and/or injury prone but have high upside has been a failed strategy. Let’s move away from that.Adam: The 2018 draft was Elway’s best (aside from drafting Von), but typically it takes a few seasons to truly evaluate a draft. If Denver can stick to the BPA approach, the draft will fall into place, and should work out. Reaching for players, or panic picking is a no-no.Ian St. Clair: Whatever Elway and the Broncos did in 2018, do it in 2019. That draft set the tone, so the expectation is (and better be) to have the same impact and value this year.Taylor: I think the Broncos hit on a smart strategy in the 2018 draft by, if I recall correctly, exclusively drafting 3 and 4 year college starters. The experience level of the rookies showed, translating itself into instant impact from the draft class. So to me a successful 2019 draft would start with heavily featuring the same strategy: 3 and 4 year starters, with wiggle room for BPA. Ian H: They’re certainly heading to the draft with needs, which usually sets you up for disaster. However, their needs: tight end, cornerback, tackle, inside linebacker, center, guard, safety, wide receiver, and quarterback. If they were to somehow address all of those needs I would define that as success: TE1, CB3, LT1, ILB2, C1, G1, SS1, WR4, & QB2.Hart: I’d like to see the Broncos come out of the draft by finding long-term starters at need positions like tight end and interior offensive line. I’d also like to see them find prospects with starting potential at every level of the defense. Sprinkle in another receiving threat (speed guy with return ability) and you have the makings of a quality draft.Laurie: What Chris said. If the 2019 draft follows the 2018 pattern - rookies able to contribute as starters because they earned the position - plus some depth/future starters at key positions in the next year and beyond Menelik Watson Jersey , that will be a draft that improves the team significantly and that’s all you can ask. In my Future Broncos series to date, I’ve covered several topics regarding the team’s future needs as well as some top prospects from the FBS and FCS to look out for in regard to the 2019 NFL Draft. There is still a lot to delve into prospect-wise, and while I usually don’t do mock drafts this early, the current state of the Denver Broncos who are bracing themselves for another cataclysmic season and wild forthcoming offseason filled with immense change prompted this week’s installment to be a mock draft. For this mock draft, I am using the order and pick selection courtesy of Tankathon. Further explanation on how the Broncos acquired the extra selections can be viewed here. Additionally, the team is not expected to receive any compensatory picks in this year’s draft, but here is a deeper look at the selections they possess.Broncos’ 2019 Draft Capital: 44th, 75th, 106th, 137th, 145th (via Minnesota Vikings), 168th, 199th, 223rd (via Los Angeles Rams)With the Broncos slated to pick thirteenth overall, this currently means they would miss out on top prospects such as Justin Herbert (QB, Oregon) and Greedy Williams (CB, LSU), who would undoubtedly be solutions the franchise needs at premier positions. Unfortunately, there are two teams ahead of Denver who will likely be in the market for a franchise quarterback: The New York Giants (currently holding the top selection) and perhaps the Oakland Raiders if John Gruden decides to move on from Derek Carr. That being said, I have not studied Drew Lock or Dwayne Haskins enough to feel comfortable slating them to Denver in the first round. This mock draft will only consist of the first three rounds, but at the end of discussing those three picks, I will outline where I think Denver should focus their handful of Day 3 selections. Without further adieu, here is my three-round Broncos’ mock draft.13th Overall: Devin White, ILB (Junior) — LSU Since I’m opting not to formulate a mega-trade that could somehow land the Broncos a franchise quarterback in the draft, I’m going to go with a difference-maker who is viewed as a top-tier player on the defensive side of the ball where the Broncos clearly need help.I’m doubtful the team elects to use their team-option to retain Brandon Marshall next season. Moreover, it’s quite clear Todd Davis isn’t a long-term solution at linebacker for the Broncos either. Even in a deep inside linebacker class (if juniors declare), that’s why I’m slating Lousiana State junior linebacker Devin White to Denver in the first round.Tremendous size, premier athleticism, tenacity, a non-stop motor and a penchant for creating game-changing turnovers are just some of the reasons why scouts are high on White Shelby Harris Jersey , who is coming off a tremendous sophomore campaign where he registered 133 tackles, 13.5 for loss, 4.5 sacks and 1 interception. He is also the Tigers’ key communicator on defense, often relaying plays in from the sidelines and helping his teammates with pre-snap adjustments and alignments — which speak to his high football IQ. He is also adept in coverage and most certainly has the ability to be a premier playing and three-down defender in the league. Missing out on a top-tier quarterback or cornerback in the first round will likely merit criticism in the comments section. However, acquiring a prospect of White’s caliber would be great for Denver. Without question, the duo of White and Josey Jewell would give the Broncos a formidable interior of their linebacker corps for years to come.44th Overall: Dalton Risner, OL (Senior) — Kansas StateGarett Bolles is struggling, Jared Veldheer hasn’t been able to stay healthy and is in the final year of his deal and the depth at the tackle spot for the Broncos is concerning to say the least. Even before the season started, I pegged this as one of the franchise’s biggest long-term needs and what has transpired to date reinforces that even more. That makes plugging in Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner in the early second-round to the team a no-brain decision.Risner fits the leadership and team captain mold that the Broncos searched for in last year’s draft process and would provide the team with a plug-and-play starter at right tackle as a rookie. He has been a starter in every game since his redshirt freshman season where he played center, but the last three years have been at right tackle. Additionally, he is widely-regarded as one of the top pass-blocking tackles in this year’s draft — and showed that with an admirable performance earlier in the year against Mississippi State pass rusher Montez Sweat, who is likely a top selection in this year’s draft.I have a feeling Risner will be a draft riser and sneak into the later part of the first round, but with a few other prospects ranked higher than him at his position and the overall depth of this year’s draft class — him being available in the early second round isn’t out of the question.75th Overall: Iman Marshall, CB (Senior) — USCWith the up-and-down year Bradley Roby has had thus far, I’m not so certain he is going to be retained long-term with the team. He also recently switched agents, which signifies to me that he has his mind set on free agency. While Chris Harris Jr. is still playing at a high-level, he is getting up their in age and there is no doubt the team needs to bolster their secondary which has went from the No Fly Zone to the Frequent Fly Zone at a quick pace. Brendan Langley didn’t pan out and while Isaac Yiadom is getting more snaps than expected this year, they still need a future starter as the position. Enter USC senior cornerback Iman Marshall, who has the skills to be a starting corner in the National Football League for a long time.Back in 2015, he was considered one of, if not the best prep defenders in the entire nation and was ranked in the Top 10 nationally by most outlets. After being highly-sought after by most every major program in the country, the 6’1, 205 pound corner who runs a 4.45 forty-yard dash opted to stay local and commit to the University of Southern California. It was a great decision for him, as he has been a starter ever since his true freshman season and has cemented himself as one of the best corner prospects available in the 2019 NFL Draft.Marshall is a physical defensive back who uses his size, length and physicality to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage and excels in man coverage. He had one of his best games a few years ago when he snagged two interceptions off of current Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen. One of the key judgment factors for me for any prospect is how well they play against top competition, and Marshall has proven his worth against a first-round player. To date, Marshall has racked up 125 tackles, 6 interceptions and 30 passes defended in 42 games as a starter. That’s big-time production in a conference known for slinging the ball around the field. After delving into several of his highlight tapes, he had issues being over-aggressive in coverage which has caused him to give up just as many big plays as he wracks up for the Trojans. That being said, his occasional lapses and coverage and discipline aren’t too big of a worry for me Colby Wadman Jersey , as those deficiencies can be corrected with proper coaching. If the Broncos were able to get a player of his caliber in the early third round, I’d be extremely satisfied. Day 3 Positional Considerations and ProspectsThe Broncos have all of their original selections in rounds four through seven, as well additional fifth and seventh round selections from trades this past offseason. Here are some of my thoughts for positions they should target, as well as a handful of prospects at each position. The defensive line depth in this year’s class is crazy, so I would feel comfortable with the Broncos getting an eventual replacement for Domata Peko here. The franchise could also use another tight end considering the injury history and lack of production from those currently on the roster. This is also a time in the draft where I would like to see Denver add another safety, with the fact that Darian Stewart may be a cap casualty after the season is over. The big question to me is what the Broncos do with Matt Paradis this offseason. If he gets extended, it’s not a major need by any means, but a prospect for depth purposes should be considered. Last but not least, the Broncos did draft Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton in this past draft, but if franchise opts to get rid of either Demaryius Thomas or Emmanuel Sanders, adding another weapon at receiver would be wise — it’s a deep class at the position.Day 3 defensive tackle prospects: Demarcus Christmas (Florida State), Dontavius Russell (Auburn), Olive Sagapolu (Wisconsin), Daylon Mack (Texas A&M), Raequan Williams (Michigan State)Day 3 tight end prospects: Tommy Sweeney (Boston College), Alize Mack (Notre Dame), Irv Smith Jr. (Alabama), Logan Parker (Southern Utah)Day 3 safety prospects: Andrew Wingard (Wyoming), J.R. Reed (Georgia), Tanner Muse (Clemson), Will Harris (Boston College), Evan Worthington (Colorado)Day 3 center prospects: Sam Mustipher (Notre Dame), Ryan Anderson (Wake Forest), Jesse Burkett (Stanford), Sean Krepsz (Nevada)Day 3 wide receiver prospects: Jaylen Smith (Louisville), Gary Jennings Jr. (West Virginia), Steven Sims Jr. (Kansas), Emmanuel Butler (Northern Arizona)Feel free to sound off in the comments section and give your own Broncos mock draft, as well as discussing other prospects and all scenarios you envision for the franchise next April.

As a kick returner, he recorded 1,194 yards on 48 kickoffs for an average of 24.9 yards and scoring two touchdowns. At just under 5-foot-11 and only 228-pounds, many teams will overlook Williams in the upcoming draft and it should come as no surprise to learn that there is very little information about the prospect available online either. He is a smart and savvy player who runs crisp, clean routes. He has excellent ball skills and reliable hands. He has impressive body control and can make the contested catches and almost never drops the ball.WeaknessesThe UC Davis product lacks some suddenness in his feet, and isn’t the most explosive athlete. He can struggle with maintaining top speed in traffic, and takes some time to work up to his second gear. There were concerns that he wasn’t very fast, but he ran a 4.4 at his Pro Day so he is plenty fast once he gets going. However, he does struggle to separate at the top of his routes, and his success came against lower-level competition.VerdictKeelan Doss has been a tremendously productive receiver for three seasons with the UC Davis Aggies, accumulating over 4,000 receiving yards and 28 TDs. He has all the traits and intangibles that one likes to see in a receiver prospect, and was considered a fifth-round draft prospect going into April. However, a pectoral injury suffered at the Combine not only kept him from doing all the receiver drills, it also likely knocked him out of the Draft entirely. That’s not including some of the guys the Raiders added last year like Marcell Ateman and Saeed Blacknall. But Doss is better than several names on that list and as long as he performs well in camp he should be able to carve out a spot on the Raiders. The league is planning a season-long celebration of its success and commitment to not knowing what a catch is, and part of that is the Games of the Week. Each week during the upcoming season, the NFL will designate one game its 100th Anniversary Game of the Week, and it will be a game with some historical significance to the history of the NFL. It may be a long-standing rivalry like Week 1’s game featuring the Packers vs. Bears or Week 10’s Falcons-Saints game or Week 14’s Browns vs. Bengals Battle of Ohio tilt. The Raiders have a total of three games on the NFL100 Game of the Week list, which is great, but is made doubly sweet because the Steelers don’t have any.The first NFL100 Game of the Week featuring the Raiders comes in Week 7, in which the Raiders travel to Lambeau Field in a rematch of Super Bowl 2. NFL.com says this:“Two of the league’s storied franchises met in Super Bowl II, which saw the Packers win a second straight championship by soundly defeating the Raiders, 33-14.”The Packers actually have another Game of the Week the following week when they go to Kansas City to rehash Super Bowl 1. Hopefully they trash the Chiefs this year too.In Week 12, the Raiders travel to New York for their second NFL100 game, taking on the Jets in a rematch of the Heidi Game which forever changed the rules of broadcasting. NFL.com says,“Perhaps a sign of the times, but what happened on Nov. 17, 1968, when the game was cut off on the East Coast to show the film “Heidi” isn’t likely to ever happen again.”And finally, the Raiders’ third NFL100 game takes place Week 16 in Los Angeles, where the Raiders will pay homage to the Holy Roller game, in which the Raiders used the fumble as an offensive weapon.“The Raiders and Chargers produced the “Holy Roller” game in 1978 and the result forever changed the NFL’s rule on an offense’s ability to advance recovered fumbles. In the contest, Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler avoided a sack by throwing the football forward towards the goal line. Running back Pete Banasnak touched the ball, then used both hands to shove the football forward. Tight end Dave Casper then recovered the football in the end zone to give the Raiders a 21-20 win.”I think this is a pretty cool idea by the league, which has had more than its share of huge games, big rivalries and revolutionary moments in its 100-year history. And hey, the Raiders won two of the three games they’re being honored for playing in in dramatic and totally improbable ways, so that’s a plus. So which of these three games do you think was most important in league history, and which is your favorite? Are there any other important Raider moments you would have liked to see included that involve teams on this year’s schedule?

on the practice field. He ended it on injured reserve.Sanders tore his Achilles early in practice. The Broncos have placed the receiver on injured reserve Garett Bolles Jersey , Mike Klis of Denver’s 9News reports. Denver needed the roster spot after claiming receiver Andre Holmes off waivers from the Bills.Sanders, 31, played all 12 games this season, making 71 catches for 868 yards and four touchdowns.鈥淚t鈥檚 like I鈥檝e said before: You don鈥檛 really replace guys,” Broncos quarterback Case Keenum told reporters Wednesday after Sanders’ injury. “Emmanuel, obviously one of the best guys I鈥檝e ever worked with. From what I knew about him coming in, seeing how he worked, how he handled himself and how he led, it鈥檚 surpassed all of my expectations by far and away. He鈥檚 an incredible guy. [But] I have all the trust in the world in those other guys.鈥漈he trade of Demaryius Thomas to Houston and the injury to Sanders opens up more opportunities for Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton and Tim Patrick, who have played in a combined 34 career games — all this season — and made a combined 37 receptions for 692 yards and four touchdowns. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Whoever replaces Vance Joseph as the Denver Broncos‘ fourth head coach in six seasons may not find a franchise quarterback awaiting him. What he will find is a roster packed with promise. The Broncos (6-10) had a terrific infusion of youth last season led by running back Phillip Lindsay , the first undrafted offensive rookie ever to earn a Pro Bowl berth, although wrist surgery will keep him from playing in the all-star game.General manager John Elway’s highly touted 2018 draft class features first-rounder Bradley Chubb, receivers DaeSean Hamilton and Courtland Sutton, linebacker Josey Jewell, running back Royce Freeman and cornerback Isaac Yiadom.NFL players typically make their biggest jump between their first and second seasons, so this group anticipates a big “leap year” in 2019, and they’re pledging to lead the franchise out of its three-year playoff drought, too.“Broncos country doesn’t have to worry about us going 6-10 again,” Sutton insisted. “Our core is going to be so strong and so tight, we’re going to show up and we’re going to go to work every single day DaeSean Hamilton Jersey , every week. And we’re not going to leave it up for chance in any games.”Chubb led all NFL rookies by collecting a dozen sacks, something he said was just an appetizer.“I’ll definitely make a bigger impact” next season, Chubb said, “whether it be in the run game, the pass game, whatever it takes.”With the middling Case Keenum at quarterback, the biggest personnel attraction for head coaching candidates is the league’s best pass-rushing duo of Chubb and Von Miller.“I’d like to think that I’m a coach’s dream,” Miller said. “We’ve got a lot of big-time players here. We’ve got Bradley Chubb, who’s coming into his second year.”The pair combined for 26½ sacks in their first season together.Star cornerback Chris Harris Jr., who is in line for a big contract extension this offseason, said he hopes the new coach injects some juice into the playbook so it can catch up to the likes of Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, Baker Mayfield in Cleveland and Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.Harris said the Broncos have been stagnant since winning Super Bowl 50 three years ago on the strength of a historically good defense and they’ve watched other teams incorporate college game concepts and sweep right past them.“We kind of just stayed doing the same thing we’ve been doing since 2015,” Harris said. “It’s 2019 now. We’ve got to evolve. We can’t do the same thing. I’ve got to evolve my game. I can’t think I’m going to still play the same coverage and the way I played in 2015 or 2013. I have to evolve my game and we have to evolve, too.”He wants the new coaching staff to incorporate the RPO (run-pass option) philosophies on both offense and defense, and Elway is on board.“Yeah, no doubt, especially if you look at where the rules are going. The rules are getting shifted to the offensive side, too,” Elway said. “We’ve relied on our defense for a long time. I think that we’re still going to rely on the defense, but we definitely have to get better on the offensive side.”Aside from the arduous search for a franchise QB, the Broncos have an ongoing ownership squabble and a demanding general manager who wants a quick turnaround, mandates immediate results and won’t sign off on a slow rebuild “because that sounds like an excuse.”“I hate to lose Josey Jewell Jersey ,” Elway said . “I hate it more now than I ever have, and we’re going to do everything we can to get us back on track and get us winning football games and get back to competing for world championships.”Candidates will also see a rabid fan base that’s equally impatient, an organization with sparkling training facilities and three shiny Super Bowl trophies and a team with the wherewithal to make a big splash in free agency for the first time since Elway signed Aqib Talib, Emmanuel Sanders, DeMarcus Ware and T.J. Ward to Denver in 2014.The next hire will be the Broncos’ sixth coach in 12 years.“It’s a short leash for anyone that comes in,” cautioned linebacker Brandon Marshall. But still an attractive gig, linebacker Todd Davis said.“I don’t think there’s anywhere better in the NFL to coach,” Davis said. “I feel like it’s a big position that a lot of people want to fill.”Elway’s wish list includes a mix of experience and youth, offensive and defensive roots.Three candidates are around his age: former Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, 58; former Titans head coach and current Steelers O-line coach Mike Munchak, 58; and Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, 60.Two others are in the mold of 32-year-old Rams coach Sean McVay, including his QBs coach, 35-year-old Zac Taylor, and Brian Flores, the 37-year-old de facto defensive coordinator for the Patriots.“We are going to try to find that guy with the ‘it’ factor, that can make those right decisions and also lead men,” Elway said. “We’re confident we can find that guy.”Because he sure doesn’t want to be doing this again anytime soon.“I hope that we can hire a guy that can be here for the next 10 years, 15 years,” Elway said.

Craig recorded 4tackles and 2.5 sacks with San Antonio.Jones signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2017, remaining on their practice squad throughout his rookie season. Released by the Falcons ahead of their 2018 campaign, the former University of Miami (Ohio) product would finish sixth in the AAF with four sacks through eight games Stephon Tuitt Jersey , as well as recording 16 tackles and a forced fumble. Though primarily focused on season long PPR scoring, this advice can be used in other formats or for DFS consideration as well. Now for season long, most top starters should always be in your line-up even if they have a tougher match-up on paper so we won’t focus as much there. The one exception is at the quarterback position where there can be some value to streaming your QB even if you have a top tier guy. Also I will include a Thursday Night Football preview as well. Thursday Night Football:Colts: T.Y. Hilton, Marlon Mack and Jack Doyle remain out. This leaves a very weakened Colts offense on a short week road game, coming off an overtime game. It is not ideal as they could struggle to move the football, but the Colts passing game is still viable. Andrew Luck will likely throw 45-55 times in this game, versus a disappointing Patriots defense. Quality Plays: Andrew Luck, Eric EbronSolid Plays: Ryan Grant, Nyheim HinesDeep league/flyer plays: Chester Rogers, Zach PascalPatriots: It appears both Rob Gronkowski and Josh Gordon will end up playing tonight Dexter Manley Jersey , though both are listed as questionable. The Patriots offense has been frustratingly inconsistent this season, but they are coming off a big win and were able to stay home during this short week. Julian Edelman is back and expected to play a large role. James White remains highly involved in the offense and is a great option for PPR formats. Rookie RB Sony Michel should have a positive game script again this week, which could see him get a fair amount of usage. While playing Brady is obvious, this probably isn’t going to be a week where he goes off for a big game. I would be cautious about playing Gronkowski given that he may sit later in the game if the Patriots are up. Gordon is unlikely to play a significant role this game unless New England is down.Quality Plays: Tom Brady, Julian EdelmanSolid Plays: James White, Sony MichelDeep league/flyer plays: Chris Hogan, Philip DorsettAvoid if possible: Rob GronkowskiFull Fade: Josh GordonQuarterbacks:Quality Plays: Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Kirk Cousins, Philip Rivers, Blake Bortles-Big Ben and Ryan play in the game with the highest projected over/under and this game looks to be the best shoot-out of the week. Brees is coming off a bad game and the Redskins pass defense has been impressive so far, but Drew Brees at home is typically hard to contain. Add in the narrative of him going for the passing record in prime time and it’s hard to not like Brees. The Vikings offensive line can’t run the football and the Eagles defense excels at stopping the run. Cousins will need to throw 45-50 times versus an Eagles secondary that has been very suspect this season. Bortles has been up and down this year, but when he’s had big games they have been huge. Expect him to throw alot versus a poor Chiefs defense.Solid Plays: Patrick Mahomes, Derek Carr, Jared Goff, Cam Newton, Alex Smith, Matt Stafford-Mahomes typically will be in the top tier, but this is by far his toughest defensive test yet. I don’t think the Jaguars can stop him, but they might be able to contain him. Carr has started to string together some really good games and faces a Chargers secondary that is giving up some big plays each week. Goff should be in line for a good game, but his upside is likely limited as the Rams figure to be up this week and not in a shootout. Newton is always a good option at home and faces a Giants defense that is really struggling. Smith will likely need to match Brees score for score, so expect more passing attempts for the Redskins this week. Stafford is at home versus a Packers team that has allowed a couple big passing weeks already this season. The one concern with Stafford is that the Packers could really look to slow the game down with their running game.Guys to sit if possible: Aaron Rodgers, DeShaun Watson, Marcus Mariota-Rodgers just hasn’t looked himself since injuring his leg. While he’s playing well from a real football perspective, his fantasy production has taken a serious hit. Watson is always dangerous, but playing the Cowboys in likely a slower paced game will limit his fantasy upside. Also Cole Holcomb Washington Redskins Jersey , if Houston gets up in this game, Watson and the passing game may take a back seat. Mariota is coming off a huge game, but he’s still not 100%. The Titans should be able to dominate the Bills and that means it could be a 2nd half filled with hand-offs from the Titans.Running backs:Guys to play:James Connor- Connor has been disappointing the past few weeks, but he’s getting a ton of targets and the Falcons are getting destroyed by backs out of the backfield. Should be a bigbounce-back week.T.J. Yeldon- Yeldon should play this week for an injured Leonard Fournette, and see usage both running and receiving. The Chiefs defense is struggling to cover backs out of the backfield and is giving up big running plays just about every game. Matt Breida- The 49ers are at home and the Cardinals have been one of the worst teams versus the run so far this season. While Alfred Morris will get some work, Breida is clearly the better weapon in this offense and is getting more work.Joe Mixon- Mixon is back this week and on top of that it appears that Gio Bernard will sit this week, giving Mixon even more opportunities. The Bengals are home favorites and the Dolphins have struggled against the run this season.Guys to avoid:Devonta Freeman/Tevin Coleman: Both running backs should be healthy this week and likely that means a true split back-field situation. It’s tough to really know who will get the ball and in what situation. It’s possible in a high total game one of these backs hits, but it’s tough to feel confident about it.Dalvin Cook: As mentioned above the Vikings can’t run and the Eagles don’t let anyone run. Cook is still working back from an injury so he isn’t even likely to see added touches from the passing game. Just avoid this situation at all costs.Adrian Peterson: Peterson just isn’t likely to find a lot of success versus a Saints defense that is allowing just 3.2 yards per carry. This game also figures to be more of a shootout meaning Peterson will probably be on the bench a lot more in this game as Chris Thompson should see a bigger role.Others to avoid if you can: Jay Ajayi, Dion Lewis, Carlos Hyde, LeSean McCoyReceivers:Guys to play:Emmanuel Sanders- It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Sanders as Case Keenum has struggled of late, but this is a really good match-up for Sanders and one he could exploit for a huge game.Calvin Ridley- Eventually you will want to get off the Ridley train as he’s due for some negative touchdown regression and his usage isn’t near what Julio Jones sees, but this feels like another good game for the rookie. It’s a high total game and the Steelers secondary is getting destroyed through the air.Tyler Boyd- Boyd is getting more and more usage in the Bengals offense and has clearly established a connection with Andy Dalton. With Tyler Eifert now hurt, expect Boyd to continue to see a high level of involvement.Nelson Agholor- Even with Alshon back, Agholor is still a quality fantasy option running out of the slot. That is where the Vikings have been burned so far this season, so look for a potential big game for Agholor.Jordy Nelson- After a slow start to the season Nelson has 8 targets and a TD in each of the last two games. He has a good match-up and should see 7-10 targets this week.Keelan Cole, Dede Westbrook, Donte Moncrief- It’s unlikely all three have good fantasy games, but it’s likely one or two really hit this week. The Chiefs secondary is very beatable and this game could see Jacksonville need to throw the ball 40-50 times. It’s tough to predict which receiver(s) will hit, but they are worth using this week given their upside. Guys to avoid:Larry Fitzgerald- Fitzgerald just can’t get anything going in this new Cardinals offense and he’s less than 100% healthy. Maybe eventually he and Josh Rosen can get something going, but right now you have to avoid him.Corey Davis- Davis is coming off a huge game, but he’s dealing with an injury and it’s likely that the Titans get up big early in this game. If that happens there is no reason why Davis will even be on the field, much less the Titans even trying to throw the ball in the 2nd half.Robbie Anderson- Anderson had a lot of preseason hype, but he’s struggled to get anything going with Sam Darnold. He’s a complete fade at this point and probably a guy you might want to trade in season long for anything of value.Michael Crabtree- Crabtree is really struggling to start the year as he’s had a number of key drops. He’s still getting a decent amount of targets, but if he keeps dropping them expect that to change. This match-up is okay, but if the Ravens get up early the focus could be on the running game.Note: This is a new section so I’ll be testing out some different formats. Let me know in the comments any ideas you might have.

However, he does struggle to separate at the top of his routes, and his success came against lower-level competition.VerdictKeelan Doss has been a tremendously productive receiver for three seasons with the UC Davis Aggies, accumulating over 4 Tahir Whitehead Jersey ,000 receiving yards and 28 TDs. He has all the traits and intangibles that one likes to see in a receiver prospect, and was considered a fifth-round draft prospect going into April. However, a pectoral injury suffered at the Combine not only kept him from doing all the receiver drills, it also likely knocked him out of the Draft entirely. The Raiders got a real steal here with a guy who should have been drafted early on the third day of the draft.Fit with RaidersOakland has addressed their WR position more than any other spot on their team. They have added guys like Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, JJ Nelson, Ryan Grant, and Hunter Renfrow. That’s not including some of the guys the Raiders added last year like Marcell Ateman and Saeed Blacknall. But Doss is better than several names on that list and as long as he performs well in camp he should be able to carve out a spot on the Raiders. The guy Doss reminds me of the most is Jordy Nelson, and the Raiders could always use a player like that who is still young.Watch Keelan Doss Highlights here A Raiders legend passed away last weekend. Clem Daniels, who played running back for the Raiders from 1961-67 died on Saturday at the age of 83.Daniels, a native of Texas, started his career with the AFL’s Dallas Texans in 1960, but he didn’t see much playing time and was traded to the Raiders after just one season. Despite starting out as a kick returner (averaged over 22 yards per return), Daniels finally got his chance to start at running back during his second season in Oakland. Since that moment, he dominated tallying 8,394 yards from scrimmage and 54 touchdowns in his Raiders’ career.“Until he got hurt, [Daniels] was without question the best complete back in the American Football League,” said former Raiders executive Ron Wolf according to Raiders.com.Daniel’s 5,103 rushing yards places him third on the franchise’s all-time rushing list behind Marcus Allen and Mark Van Eeghen.Daniels earned AFL co-MVP honors in 1963 when he became the first Raider to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season and earned Pro Bowl honors in four straight seasons from 1963-66. Off the field, Daniels was equally as spectacular. He was a notable social-justice advocate in the East Bay and made his mark during the 1965 AFL All-Star game in New Orleans when he played an instrumental role in coordinating a boycott of taxi drivers and restaurants who refused to take African-American customers.

Broncos are clearly planning to “win now” ... right?Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsIn Broncoland it seems that every day the gap between those who love John Elway as GM and those who hate him grows wider. Those who hate him claim that any success the team saw from 2012 to 2015 was thanks only to Peyton Manning and the influence he had in bringing in other top free agents. Those who love him claim that he built one of the greatest offenses and greatest defenses of all time in only a matter of a few seasons and are willing to forgive him his (especially recent) faults as a talent evaluator. Of course, as with all things, the truth is undoubtedly somewhere in the middle. Is he the greatest GM of all time? No, probably not. Is he the worst? No, probably not. But still we see the Twittersphere and comment sections boiling to the brim with factions from both sides duking it out over the ineptitude or...eptitude of the Broncos’ current General Manager.I’m personally on team Elway and though I do think he has dug a deep hole for himself and the team the last few years, it’s not something that hasn’t happened a million times to other teams in the NFL and it’s not like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Of course I could argue my point about Elway being the bomb for a good 3,000 words but I would probably lose half of the readers after the words “I’m team Elway”, so I’ll stick to trying to decipher if this team really is headed in the right direction under the guidance of #7.As everyone and their mother knows by now, the Broncos signed an older but very solid defensive back yesterday - Kareem Jackson - to a contract that seems quite fair in this insane market. Then they went and made Juwan James the highest paid right tackle in the league and spent a huge chunk of their available money in the process. The feelings in the public forumsabout this move are about as varied as those about Elway as G.M and they seem to run along the same lines with the above mentioned factions. For those who hate Elway, any questionable move is, of course, anathema. For those who love him, it’s the greatest signing since PFM. For me, it’s again, somewhere in the middle. He’s a guy with very solid talent and huge upside that fits a need but comes at a cray cray price and could become a bad overpay if he doesn’t progress as a tackle. Since he will have OL whisperer, Mike Munchak, saying sweet nothings into his ear and telling him how good a boy he is, there seems little doubt in the minds of team Elway that he will become the best RT in football. Maybe. Each move the front office has made this offseason indicates that they are in a “win now” or at least a “win soon” mode and that obviously is good news for Broncos’ fans. They re-signed Sanders and Shelby Harris, added a veteran CB and NFL proven RT, hired a grizzled old head coach and traded for Joe Flacco. This in no way looks like a rebuild of any sort. Yay for us....right?Only, the issue is that it’s only good to be in a “win now” mode if you are good enough to...win now. To really succeed in the NFL in 2019 means that you have to have some group or at least a few players that are great. The Broncos have, in my opinion, one great player (Von), one very, very good player (CHJ), one super high potential player (Lindsay) and a good defensive line (Chubb, Wolfe, Harris, Von). Other positions rank anywhere from solid to horrible.Yes, that’s all from my own grading system (which is proven to be about as accurate as PFF by the way) and you may - and most certainly will - disagree with me. Keep in mind though, that I am an Elway apologist. I defend him at nearly every turn and look at him as the GOAT who can practically do no wrong but I still am left incredibly uninspired by this team as it sits right now. This could change in a manner of days with some great F.A additions or in April with a phenomenal draft but it will have to be something off the charts to boost my feeings about the Broncos and “winning now”. It’s rarely that we see a solid or good team win the Super Bowl unless they are led by a HOF QB or coach. Philadelphia a few years back is maybe the best example of a team that had few “greats” but still managed by the sum of their parts to win the trophy. Maybe the Broncos can immitate that team and through gutsy coaching, team effort, a streaky QB and a lot of luck, they can still be playing football in February. Here’s to hoping. (AP) — No, Phillip Lindsay never once thought he’d become the first undrafted offensive player to make the Pro Bowl. He’s been too busy making tacklers miss and general managers regret passing him over in the NFL draft just because he stands 5-foot-8.“I’m an undrafted free agent. To be able to have 100 yards in a game was great. To get a touchdown, to be able to play at (Mile High Stadium), that’s the stuff right there that I dreamt about,” the Denver Broncos‘ rookie running back said Wednesday. “The Pro Bowl is something that you think like five years down the line, three years down the line.”After waiting seven rounds and never hearing his name called or his phone buzz on draft weekend Shannon Sharpe Jersey , Lindsay signed with his hometown Broncos and when he survived cuts after training camp, he sought Hall of Famer Terrell Davis’ blessing to wear his old No. 30 jersey .Yet, Lindsay said he’s been so focused on his next opponent that he didn’t even ponder the possibility of making the Pro Bowl when a couple of Cleveland Browns players told him after their game Saturday night that “our whole linebacker room voted for you for the Pro Bowl.”Excluding special teams players, the only other undrafted rookie to make the Pro Bowl was Dallas Cowboys defensive back Everson Walls in 1981.“That tells you what he’s done,” coach Vance Joseph said. “His first day with us, he was the sixth halfback on the depth chart. The sixth! Obviously, being a rookie free agent. Didn’t go to the combine. Wasn’t drafted. … He came in here just trying to make our football team.”Lindsay started out as a special teams stud and didn’t even start in the backfield until midway through the season.“Now, he’s in the Pro Bowl, so that speaks to his work ethic, his heart and his talent,” Joseph said. “So, it’s amazing what he’s accomplished in such a short time.”Although Lindsay said, “Nobody knew about me when I got here, other than I was little,” teammate Bradley Roby said the veterans sure took notice of him right away.“Very impressive. I know this, when he first got here, OTAs, you kind of feel the rookies out, see how they move. And I always felt that his movement was good,” Roby said. “I was like, ‘This guy’s fast, he’s quick, accelerates.’ I was thinking like if he can run with the pads on, he’s going to be nice.“And he’s done nothing but prove that he’s worth. He should have been drafted, obviously. He’s a gem.”The wild-haired rookie cracked up his teammates during team introductions by saying, “I’m Phillip Lindsay, I’m from Colorado. And I went to Colorado.”Short and sweet.Just like his stride. The first player from the Broncos Futures Football middle school program to sign an NFL contract, Lindsay grew up in Aurora not far from the Broncos headquarters, and starred at Denver South High School and the University of Colorado, where his wild hair and relentless rushing style earned him the nickname “Tasmanian Devil.”Lindsay, who is nine rushing yards shy of 1,000 and whose 5.5-yard average is second in the league, said he’s eager to go to the Pro Bowl with teammate Von Miller, the game’s reigning MVP, and he’s also eager to finally meet Saquon Barkley, the running back from Penn State whom the Giants drafted second overall.Barkley is the only rookie running back who has more yards (1,155) than he does (991), although both have nine touchdown runs.“It’s going to be fun to be able to finally talk to Saquon,” Lindsay said. “We always heard about each other, but we never got to see each other. So, it will be cool to hang out with each other.”Lindsay had hoped to meet Barkley at the NFL combine last spring but he never received an invitation to the league’s annual gathering of top draft hopefuls, a snub that’s driven him all season along with going undrafted two months later.Lindsay said he hopes his remarkable rise will inspire kids everywhere who are overlooked underdogs.“You’ve got to keep pushing, you just never know. You’ve got to keep the faith no matter what,” Lindsay said. “Everybody can take anything from you, but they can’t take your faith. That’s what you’ve got to rely on. You’ve got to go for your dreams.”

and wide receiver Antonio Brown were sharing the field for the Steelers offense Derwin Gray Jersey 2019 , but they may both be wearing other uniforms by the time the 2019 season gets underway. The circumstances for the two players are different, but one of their Steelers teammates would like to see the team find a way to stop discarding players. Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster shared those thoughts with Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.“In my dream world, I would have Le鈥橵eon Bell at running back with James Conner,” Smith-Schuster said. “I鈥檇 have AB stay on the other side. We鈥檇 win the Super Bowl with the guys that we have Cheap Derwin Gray Jersey , the guys that we keep. Obviously it鈥檚 tough, situations like that you can鈥檛 control — Art Rooney and Mike Tomlin with that situation. For me, it鈥檚 moreso like let鈥檚 keep the guys on the team and win the Super Bowl. Let鈥檚 stop all the bulls–t.”There appears to be almost no chance that Bell will be in Pittsburgh as anything but a visiting player in the future.聽There’s a lot more to play out on the Brown front, but Smith-Schuster may have to settle for the Steelers holding onto a new crop of teammates in the future. The Antonio Brown saga appears to be over.According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network Benny Snell Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey , the Pittsburgh Steelers are closing in on a deal to ship their soon-to-be former wide receiver to the Buffalo Bills. The Steelers and Brown have been at odds ever since Brown did not play in the final game of the regular season. Brown has expressed frustration over Ben Roethlisberger and what he felt was misplaced criticism by the Steelers’ quarterback.A meeting between Brown and Steelers owner Art Rooney came to the mutual agreement that a trade would be in the best interest of both parties.Whether a trade to Buffalo and a pairing with quarterback Josh Allen is what Brown had in mind remains unclear. In a reply to the official NFL instagram account citing Rapoport’s report, Brown offered a reply of “fake news” with a siren emoji from his verified instagram account. Additionally, Vic Carucci of the cited sources saying the teams had discussed a possible trade for Brown. However, a deal is not imminent and “unlikely.”

Pope’s versatility at the line is reminiscent of Geron Christian’s, and if the coaching staff are confident that Christian is making the necessary strides, a player like Pope may be superfluous. On the other hand, Pope’s athleticism may be sufficiently attractive that he could be brought into camp to compete for the swing tackle role outright. Injuries were the theme of the 2018 season along the Washington offensive line.Nine different offensive linemen played at least 200 offensive snaps for the team as they mixed and matched on a weekly basis to fill out the unit. One of the biggest losses was right guard Brandon Scherff, who was lost for the year at midseason to a torn pectoral muscle.Scherff said this week that he feels he is back to about 90 percent and expects to be “ready to go” in time for training camp.“I think it was just a fluke injury,” Scherff said, via the team’s website. “My arm got caught in a weird position, and my pec popped. There’s nothing you can really train for that injury, but it’s all about getting stronger and eating healthier — I’ve been doing that a lot better — and just not worrying about [the injury]. Just going out and playing football.”Washington has to figure out its starting quarterback for the 2019 season, but life will be better for whoever gets that job if the team’s able to field a consistent offensive line this time around.

Especially for a team that finished last season 4-12 with fan confidence at the end of the season below 50%. But this is fans we’re talking about here. And the offseason is eternal hope time. When you have as many holes to fill as the Raiders did coming into this offseason, and when you go about filling them, fans get more and more excited. And let’s be honest, the fans were given some reason to be optimistic. Antonio Brown is a big part of that.As of the end of last season, 45% of Raiders fans were confident in the direction of the team via our FanPulse survey. Following free agency with the trade for Antonio Brown, addition of Trent Brown, Tyrell Williams, and Lamarcus Joyner, the confidence level made its largest leap to 77%. Then it dipped back down again for reasons hard to pinpoint. Perhaps it was not signing any pass rushers; the team’s most glaring need.Following the draft, it jumped back up again to 79%. The draft is the cure-all. Every pick is looked at as the answer to the questions Womens Bo Jackson Jersey , the high picks are instant starters and the low picks are steals. But as much of a jump as 34% is in a few months time for a team that hasn’t played a game, the resulting 79% confidence rate is still middle-of-the-road in the NFL and the lowest in the AFC West. You want to see utterly unrealistic fan support, check out the Broncos fans, whose confidence level at the end of last season was at 28% and is now at 84%; exactly TRIPLE what it was! No team over 75% had a bigger leap. You can see where the biggest jump occurred. It was free agency, when it jumped up to 69%. And what happened in free agency? Joe Flacco happened. That’s all it takes for Broncos fans to lose their minds. Joe. Flacco.Pre-draft, those Broncos fans had a higher confidence level (75%) than Chargers fans (71%). Did I mention the Chargers made the playoffs with twice as many wins as the Broncos (6-10) who are still without a decent starting QB?Both the Chiefs and Chargers finished 12-4 and were playoff teams last season, so their confidence was high and stayed high throughout the offseason. Chargers fans currently have the division’s highest confidence at 88%, up from 76% at the end of last season.Chiefs fans’ confidence actually waned from 94% to 85%. Imagine that. Chiefs fans with their young MVP QB have just a 1% higher confidence level than Broncos fans with.... Joe... Flacco.Ah, the level of bliss that must accompany that much ignorance.Follow @LeviDamien Six days until the draft. This is fine. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the entire scouting department has been sent home and won’t return for the draft.“They don’t know who to trust” is not a good statement. Especially after reports last year of Gruden having his own scouts and a different draft board than former GM Reggie McKenzie and his scouting department. A report Gruden did not deny outright, but downplayed it saying he has a couple guys who work for the coaches but “it doesn’t intersect with the scouting, it’s a completely different agenda.”That reported divide was thought to have been put in the past with Reggie McKenzie’s firing late last season. Though many in his scouting department remain with the team, including his brother Raleigh McKenzie.Perhaps more details on this will be revealed at some point, but regardless, this is not a positive development with less than a week until the draft with Mike Mayock in his first ever draft as an NFL GM.Update: While not knowing “who to trust” is never a good thing in a draft prep situation, it may not be unusual to clear out the scouting staff at this point.Follow @LeviDamien

on AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers (7-2) and will be looking to end a long road drought against divisional rivals having not won a road game against an AFC West team since December of 2015. If you see BLUE in your region in the map below Drew Lock Denver Broncos Jersey , then you will get the Broncos-Chargers game on your local CBS station this weekend.506sports.comWinning games has been a problem for the Broncos under the leadership of Vance Joseph, so it should not be surprising that the road wins within the division have been non-existent. Fortunately, Joseph will have a little bit of extra help on offense out there as Royce Freeman is looking to make his way back into the lineup this week.“He looked OK,” Joseph said of Freeman. “It wasn’t perfect, but he wants to be out there. If I’m a betting man, I’ll bet on Royce that he plays Sunday morning.”The game will be called by Ian Eagle (play-by-play), Dan Fouts (analyst), and Evan Washburn (sideline reporting). Kickoff is set at 2:05 p.m. Mile High time on Sunday Drew Lock Denver Broncos Jersey , November 18, 2018 at ROKiT Field at Stubhub Center in Carson, California. This move obviously opens up a starting spot in the Broncos secondary and potentially a big free agent signing sometime next week. The name that makes the most sense because of connections, former coaches, and improving the team is Bears safety, Adrian Amos. He flourished under Vic Fangio and Ed Donatell in Chicago and will be a free agent in a few days. This fit makes a ton of sense on paper and even Amos himself recently said that the Broncos are potentially a good fit for his services if he hits the free agent market. He could serve as an extra coach on the field for the Broncos since he knows Fangio’s/Donatell’s system and what is asked of them. Plus, he’s also a damn good coverage safety who has earned high marks from Pro Football Focus. His addition will help the Broncos fix their issues with covering a tight end first and foremost and also would give Fangio two solid talents at the back end of his defense. In Chicago he had free safety Eddie Jackson Drew Lock Jersey 2019 , as well as Amos, being big contributors for his top-ranked defense. Look for Justin Simmons to fill Jackson’s role on the Broncos while the role Amos filled is currently vacant...for now. This isn’t a slam dunk to happen. It’s simply dot connections and something that makes a ton of sense on paper. In the end, it will come down to money(like it always does). If they deem the asking price too high, an in-house option like Will Parks could be considered as well. He is coming off a solid season for the Broncos and could move into the starting role while the Broncos spend their funds elsewhere. Just another option on the table for Elway, Fangio, and the Broncos. Will Elway and the Broncos open up their checkbook and sign a highly talented safety? History says he most certainly will. We shall see how it plays out.

Cheap Devin Bush Jersey , how to watch and open thread It’s hard to believe, but the 2018-2019 regular season is finally here!! While 30 NFL teams don’t play until Sunday or Monday, the league’s kickoff game pits the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Atlanta Falcons in the City of Brotherly Love.In case you didn’t know, this game is nationally televised on NBC, and can be viewed through the NBC Sports app as well — so there’s no real reason to miss it!But down to more important business...Who will win this opening game? Considering Pittsburgh Steelers fans really don’t have a dog in this fight — unless you count a disdain for things on the eastern side of the state of Pennsylvania — it should be a level-headed prediction. As for me, I actually think the visiting team will win for the second year in a row. Last year it was the Kansas City Chiefs who started the season red-hot by defeating the New England Patriots in Foxborough, only to be ‘cooled off’ by the Black-and-gold a few weeks later.I think the Falcons have something to prove, and they’re going to go into Philadelphia and make the Eagles’ fans pray for a quick recovery by Carson Wentz. Nick Foles is inconsistent, and the Super Bowl MVP is far cry from what fans will see on Thursday night.I’ll take the Falcons in this one by the score of:Atlanta — 28Philadelphia — 17What’s your score prediction? Let us know in the comment section below, and enjoy the game with the BTSC group! And as always...HERE WE GO STEELERS! The Steelers came out and absolutely crushed the Panthers. I don’t think any of us could have really predicted this beating, but the defense held up and the offense itself was a mastery of the art. Regardless of how it happened, the Steelers somehow came out, played their best game of the season, and obliterated the Panthers. With a huge 52-21 victory no one really expected, Pittsburgh cemented themselves as a legitimate team now in the AFC, and perhaps even in the Super Bowl picture. This win is huge and sends a big message, as this win was over a very good team in the Panthers. Therefore Joe Greene Jersey , let’s see six takeaways from the big Thursday night victory:Randy Fichtner is so, so good7 touchdowns and perfect in the red zone. That is the stat line of Fichtner’s coaching day today, and boy did he ever impress. His play calls of getting everyone involved in the red zone is truly amazing. He knows how to make this offense incredibly efficient. Rarely are they ever in 3rd and long and it keeps the drives chugging along. Fichtner has incredible play design and set up, too. His play calling just lends this team to be an efficient offense, which they never were under Todd Haley. Ben Roethlisberger is taking less hits, the ball is being spread around, and this offense has a specific rhythm to it that makes it just keep going. Fichtner could be playing himself out of Pittsburgh and into a head coaching gig if he keeps this up.Bud Dupree really has turned a cornerI want to show you this play because it shows that Bud Dupree now has the components of being a good pass rusher. Yes, he still has his issues. For one, his hips are stiff and inhibit his ability to bend, and no, he does not have that many pass rushing moves, but he is playing lower than ever, and especially, is using his hands. We knew about that explosive first step that he has, but I never really thought he would capitalize on it. He does now. Look at him win the hand fight and get the outside leverage, which allows him to bend to get the sack on Newton. Folks, Bud Dupree is progressing and is silencing the need on EDGE to a want for depth. I’m going to say the Steelers will not being drafting an EDGE Round 1 Terrell Edmunds Jersey , instead they certainly may be giving Dupree a little reward, in the form of an extension. Welp, Artie Burns is still badI watched the last quarter of this blowout to hopefully see Artie Burns, and I did. Well, guys, he was just as bad as he has ever been. He is playing timid and is allowing so much separation you would question how he is even rosterable at this point. His DPI penalty should have been an INT for him if he tracks the ball well enough, but he just looks done. He even tripped over himself. I cannot say how bad he was out there and he has been bad this whole season. I don’t want to give up on Burns, but it is certainly trending towards bust land for Artie, unfortunately. This defense is legitYes, the Steelers defense has un-athletic linebackers and it was exposed, also, yes, the Steelers do not have a good CB2, although Coty Sensabaugh has been playing much better as of recent. However, the pressure these guys are generating is crazy right now. 16 hurries for Cam Newton tonight, 5 sacks, that is just crazy against a Panthers Offensive Line that was actually playing well and was 6th in the league in collective pass blocking efficiency Maurkice Pouncey Jersey , per ESPN. The secondary has been okay. Terrell Edmunds is still learning, but Morgan Burnett returned to form today and Joe Haden locked down whoever he faced. But the defensive line’s resurgence has allowed this team to really ascend. Getting that pressure from the middle has impacted this defense on a massive scale, and Heyward, Tuitt, and Hargrave all had good games today.I like this Ryan Switzer guyYou know, I did not expect Ryan Switzer to be a huge part of this offense, but the Steelers converted three first downs on third-down today due to the play of Switzer. For only a 5th round pick, the Steelers not only got an excellent return man, but also a fantastic slot receiver that can come through on third down when the Steelers need it. Switzer has been prominent in Fichtner’s third-down scheming and it has worked incredibly well.Fichtner went back and saw what Switzer could do at North Carolina and is using him exactly in the way he was used there. That is what good OCs do. They shape the scheme to the players, and Switzer has never looked more comfortable. Thanks Oakland.Boz is backWelcome back the Wizard of Boz. Chris Boswell’s struggles have been at the very least concerning, but they certainly were not tonight. His 50 yard field goal was right down the middle and had to be a huge confidence booster for him. In addition to that, I did not see him pushing any kicks to the right. They are really starting to straighten out. And although the Steelers are not settling for as many field goals this year, having Boswell as sure-footed kicker in the back is huge.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Nick Mullens got several hundred congratulatory text messages Maxx Crosby Jersey 2019 , a phone call from Brett Favre and his Twitter account verified.Delivering the most productive game by a quarterback in his NFL debut since the merger leads to many accolades.Mullens threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns and the San Francisco 49ers thoroughly dominated the Battle of the Bay, beating the Oakland Raiders 34-3 on Thursday night. The former undrafted free agent out of Favre’s alma mater Southern Mississippi finished 16 for 22 in place of the injured C.J. Beathard and had a 151.9 passer rating, the highest for a quarterback with at least 15 attempts in an NFL debut since the 1970 merger.“I think I’m here for a reason. This is my opportunity to prove that I can play,” Mullens said. “Today’s thing was just attack your job and worry about what matters. What mattered most tonight was the team and how we played.”The Niners (2-7) couldn’t have played much better in snapping a six-game losing streak and winning for just the second time in two years without Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback.Mullens threw TD passes to Pierre Garcon and Kendrick Bourne on the opening two drives and connected on a 71-yard one-handed catch-and-run play to George Kittle to set up a third TD pass to Kittle. Raheem Mostert added a 52-yard TD run and the defense generated eight sacks for the first time since 2009.But the story of the game was Mullens, got rid of the ball quickly and took advantages of several breakdowns in coverage for big plays, including the 24-yard TD pass to a wide-open Garcon on the opening drive.“It was cool that he didn’t change under the big lights and these circumstances,” cornerback Richard Sherman said. “We’re not really surprised. We’ve seen him do it in practice. He plays with a lot of confidence.”With Garoppolo out for the season and Beathard having lost nine of 10 career starts, the inevitable question will be whether Mullens will take over as starter for the next game Nov. 12 against the New York Giants.“We’ll definitely consider it,” coach Kyle Shanahan said. “I’m definitely not thinking about it right now. Our whole team played very well. They definitely did.”The Raiders (1-7) clearly didn’t, losing for the fourth straight time, getting outscored by 85 points during the skid.“I know it’s not looking pretty right now,” coach Jon Gruden said. “I’ve heard a lot of negativity over the last six, seven months and rightfully so. But we’re going to build a championship football team here.”In what was perhaps the worst prime-time matchup in NFL history, only the Raiders played down to expectations. They provided little resistance on defense against an undrafted quarterback making his NFL debut, did nothing offensively after driving for as field goal on the opening drive and put together the most listless performance yet in Gruden’s second stint as coach.Carr finished 16 for 22 for 171 yards and was sacked seven times before being replaced by AJ McCarron in the fourth quarter. McCarron was sacked once behind a banged-up offensive line.“It’s a frustrating thing to be sitting on the record you have, be going through some of the things we’re going through as an offense and still not being able to put points on the board,” tight end Jared Cook said. “It’s definitely frustrating because we know the talent we have in this room is way better than that and way better than what we portray on the field.”UNDER PRESSURECarr was sacked four times in the first half for the first time in his career as the Raiders struggled to provide much protection against a 49ers defense that has not generated much pressure all year. Dekoda Watson had 1 1/2 sacks in his first game of the season after getting activated from IR earlier in the day.RING CEREMONYFormer Niners receiver Terrell Owens was presented his Hall of Fame ring at a halftime ceremony. Owens was voted into the Hall of Fame earlier this year but skipped the induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio, to hold his own celebration at his college in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Owens said he was upset at the voters who made him wait three years for the honor, saying he believed they brought in off-field issues into their deliberations instead of focusing solely on what Owens did as a player.“This is awesome,” Owens said before the game. “This is an opportunity to give something to the fans. Ever since I left in 2003 and went on and did some great things, but this is where it started my first eight years of my career.”INJURIESRaiders left tackle Kolton Miller left with a knee injury. … Mostert broke his forearm in the third quarter and will miss the rest of the season.UP NEXTRaiders: Host Los Angeles Chargers on Nov. 11.49ers: Host New York Giants on Nov. 12.
