New draftees excited to get to work with Broncos’ coachesdenverbroncos.comIt is now well-documented how much Dalton Risner, a native Coloradoan, wanted to be a Bronco - and his dream came true Friday when he got the call as Denver’s 41st pick. But it turns out all of the new draft picks headed to the Broncos had some serious love for their new team. And not just because of current stars like Von Miller as teammates or legends like John Elway as the GM, but because of the new coaches. You heard that right - the coaches. It’s been a couple of years since the coaching staff was a true selling point for this team, after all.But since almost all of the new Broncos spent some time in interviews with GM John Elway and the coaching staff, they are coming in excited about their new teachers. And it wasn’t just from nice-but-useless meet-and-greet interviews. With Justin Hollins, for example, the Oregon linebacker sat down with OLB coach Brandon Staley and went over specific plays he could be used in.“He [and I] really clicked. I loved the system that he was showing me and the plays. We sat down and we talked. We really hit it off,” Hollins said. “I feel that underneath him, he is going to develop me. He’s going to show me exactly what it takes to be one of the best. He has coached the best, and I feel like he is one of the best position coaches out there.”For defensive end Dre’mont Jones, the experience with the coaching staff was “really chill.”“I talked to like literally everyone on defense and met with Coach Fangio. He seems like a great guy to talk to,” said Jones, who also spoke with former Bronco Kenny Anunike, a grad assistant at Ohio State. “I can tell [Fangio] is confident in what he’s doing and everything. ...I’m very excited because I know how much of a genius he is defensively.”On the other side of the ball, Risner can’t wait to get started with Hall-of-Famer Mike Munchak as his offensive line coach as well as former Bronco Chris Kuper as the assistant.“I watched Chris growing up and play for years here at right guard. I think I shook his hand a couple more times up there in the offensive line room,” Risner said. “To be able to get the opportunity to get coached by him, and not only by him but by Coach Munchak Jake Butt Jersey , those are two coaches who going into this process I wanted to get coached by. I’m sure there are going to be days that they are on me, but that is what I want. That’s why they are great coaches. I can’t wait for Coach Kuper to get on to me and get me going in the direction I need to go.”When Drew Lock came to town, his interview with the Broncos was more film session with Rich Scangarello than interview (though, of course, THAT was the interview).Lock noted that the new offensive coordinator talked at length with him about fixing his rollout to the left.“All quarterbacks can roll out right and throw. I do a little unorthodox thing sometimes when I go to the left, and we’re going to focus on that and getting it down right. You’ve got to get out of the pocket. You’ve got to make plays out of the pocket, and that was one of the main things we talked about,” Lock said. “For him to be able to go ahead and say something to me in that early meeting, allowing me to work on it now before I ended up being a Bronco, I think that was huge. That was one of the reasons why I felt good coming out of the meeting.” For Lock, who was the Broncos’ third pick of the draft, second in the second round, the young quarterback knows his place on this team is to come in and learn. But learn big and learn immediately. He felt that commitment to teaching him from the Broncos early on in the draft process.“A lot of these teams, they’ll talk to you about your film and go over a play, and not necessarily critique you and tell you what you need to get better on. You’ve got to ask them for that,” Lock noted. “That was just the different vibe I got here. Everything was played out, and he had those tips for me, which made me feel like this could be a home in the future. Now Brendan Langley Jersey , I’m standing here a Denver Bronco.” The veteran defender is hoping he can help Denver "Winn from now on."" Denver Broncos RosterBroncos 2019 Roster Review: Defensive lineman Billy WinnNew,4commentsThe veteran defender is hoping he can help Denver “Winn from now on.”MDTBilly Winn was a solid contributor for the Broncos under Wade Phillips and Gary Kubiak in 2016. He spent the first few years of his career in Cleveland, then Indianapolis before coming to Denver to provide depth along the defensive line. Billy Winn ProfileWinn was brought onto the 90-man roster in 2016 for defensive line depth after Phil Taylor was placed on injured reserved. He made it out of camp and onto the 53-man roster and saw rotational action in every game in 2016, logging 30 percent of the total possible defensive snaps. In 2017, Winn was having a good camp and looked to be on his way to making the roster again when he tore his ACL in a preseason game, landing him on IR for the rest of the season. Winn spent 2018 rehabbing his injury, and Denver brought him back to again compete for a roster spot.QuotableQuote from 2016 when asked about how the season was going:Billy Winn’s roster status with the BroncosThe Broncos are pretty stacked on the defensive line with Shelby Harris, Wolfe, and Gotsis looking to take the three starting down linemen spots in base fronts, with Zach Kerr, Demarcus Walker, and Dre’Mont Jones bringing up the second team, but Winn is a veteran guy with experience and has been a solid rotational guy when healthy. In Chicago, Fangio carried 6-7 defensive linemen on the 53-man roster over the last three years, so there could potentially one more defensive lineman spot up for grabs for Winn depending on how everything shakes out.The fact that Denver decided to bring him back after his injury and rehab shows they see some value in him. I think he has a decent chance of making the roster if he is able to stay healthy.

Although previously eligible, Flores — who coached two Raiders teams to Super Bowl titles — and longtime defensive lineman Seymour are finalists for the first time. Also being considered for induction are senior committee nominee Johnny Robinson, a star safety for Dallas/Kansas City from 1960-71, and contributors finalists Gil Brandt, former personnel director for the Cowboys and now the NFL’s top draft consultant, and Broncos owner Pat Bowlen.A maximum of eight new members can be elected, five from the modern-era group. Inductions are Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio.James, a third-time finalist, played the first seven of his 11 NFL seasons with the Colts. He led the league in rushing his first two seasons — he had 1,553 yards in 1999 and 1 Courtland Sutton Jersey ,709 yards in 2000 — and finished his career with 12,246 yards and 80 touchdowns on the ground. Also a skilled receiver out of the backfield, he had 3,364 yards and 11 touchdowns receiving. He made four Pro Bowls.Gonzalez played 17 seasons with the Chiefs and Falcons but never made a Super Bowl. No matter: He holds the career record for tight ends with 1,325 receptions, second overall to only Jerry Rice, and gained more than 15,127 yards while scoring 111 touchdowns. His string of 211 straight games with a catch lasted from 2000-13.Reed spent 12 seasons with the Ravens, Texans and Jets, winning an NFL title in 2012. He’s one of two players to lead the NFL in interceptions three times (2004, 2008, 2010) and was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2004.Bailey played 15 seasons with Washington and Denver and was a three-time All-Pro. Considered one of the game’s best cover cornerbacks, he had a career-high 10 interceptions in 2006.Lynch, a standout safety for Tampa Bay and Denver, becomes a finalist for the sixth straight year. Coryell, who coached the high-powered offenses of the Cardinals and Chargers in the 1970s and ’80s, is a five-time finalist. In all, the finalists comprise three safeties, two cornerbacks, two offensive tackles, two coaches Royce Freeman Jersey White , one guard, one center, one tight end, one running back, one wide receiver and one defensive lineman.100<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj Mehta Three picks after the Baltimore Colts selected John Elway with the 1st pick in the 1983 draft, the Broncos selected tackle Chris Hinton 4th overall. How on earth did the Broncos end up with the 4th overall pick? The 1982 season must have been just awful. The 1982 season was indeed awful in ways that challenge the traditional definition of terrible. First, there was the NFLPA strike that wiped out NFL football for over half the season. Imagine the third game of the season being played the weekend before Thanksgiving! Thankfully, I was only 3-years old at the time and don’t remember it. The 1982 Denver Broncos fielded holdovers from the Super Bowl XII team like Craig Morton, Rob Lytle, Riley Odoms, Tom Glassic, Rick Upchurch, and Randy Gradishar while featuring stars we’d all get to know during the tragic Super Bowl runs of late 1980’s like Denis Smith, Rich Karlis, Gerald Willhite, Keith Bishop, Sammy Winder, and Steve Watson. Managing this collision of eras was Dan Reeves in his first year as head coach of the Denver Broncos. Denver won just 2 games in 1982, none of them in division and none of them in conference. Before the hiatus, the Broncos hosted Bill Walsh, Joe Montana Courtland Sutton Jersey White , and their San Francisco 49ers at Mile High and eked out a victory with the aid of a barefoot Rich Karlis field goal. The other victory came against Ray Malavasi’s Los Angeles Rams. Broncos history honks will remember him as the Denver Broncos interim head coach that replaced Mac Speedie after he dropped the first two games of the 1966 season. Malavasi would notch just a 4-8 record as Broncos head coach before being replaced by Lou Saban for the 1967 season. After turning in a horrid performance in the first game of the season against the San Diego Chargers and getting off to a shaky start against the 49ers, Craig Morton was benched in favor of Steve DeBerg. After falling behind in Anaheim, 21-0 in the 2nd quarter, the Broncos finally found their groove with DeBerg hitting Rick Upchurch for a 51-yard touchdown pass. Running back Rick Parros added another touchdown when DeBerg found him to close out the 2nd quarter. Outside of a Rams field goal in the 4th quarter, the Broncos would own the rest of the game adding two Rich Karlis field goals and another Rick Parros touchdown. Broncos won, 27-24.Interesting side note, in Super Bowl XXXIII, the Broncos faced Dan Reeves, as coach, and Steve DeBerg, as backup quarterback for the Falcons. While everyone remembers that victory over Atlanta as John Elway’s last game, few remember that it was also the conclusion to Steve DeBerg’s 20-year career. So how did this game ‘help pave the way for the Broncos to acquire John Elway’?If you haven’t seen the ESPN’s 30 for 30: Elway to Marino you need to stop what you’re doing right now and seek it out. The documentary details the minutiae of the 1983 NFL draft and gets deeply into what happened between Denver and Baltimore in the historic trade that changed both franchises forever. The Rams and Broncos both finished 1982 with 2-7 records. Since the Broncos won the head-to-head, the Rams got to pick 3rd overall in 1983, right before Denver. Had the Broncos lost to Los Angeles, the Rams trade with the Houston Oilers to get the 2nd overall pick and hall-of-famer Eric Dickerson would have been more difficult to make or wouldn’t have happened at all. Denver could have picked someone other than Chris Hinton and the 1983 draft would have been different. Chris Hinton, backup quarterback Mark Hermann, and the Broncos 1st round pick in the 1984 draft were traded to Baltimore for John Elway. Would Elway have come to Denver without Hinton? The 30 for 30 mentions that the trade was more a product of then-Broncos owner Edgar Kaiser’s relationship with Colts owner Robert Irsay than the elements that were actually exchanged. However, if things didn’t sit as they did on draft day in 1983 as a result of the 1982 season, you can’t say for sure that Elway becomes the cornerstone of Denver Broncos history. It’s crazy to think of the impact a single game can have on a franchise.

He has the speed and lateral quickness to become a stopper in the run game in addition to a tall and lanky frame that would coincide with a pass-rushing prototype. Showed a knack for improvement as the season progressed. He sacked the quarterback five times in the last four games of the year to finish with 7.5 sacks on the season. He has also begun to fill out his frame as he is now 238 pounds compared to the 220 pounds he was listed at during the season. WeaknessesWith just one season on the defensive side of the ball, Bell is about as big of a project as one could imagine. He didn’t react quickly on tape, needs to learn how to use his hands, has no pass-rushing moves to his arsenal Leon Hall Jersey , and needs to become stronger to stand a chance in the run game and against the stronger and larger offensive linemen in the NFL.VerdictIt is the seventh round of an NFL draft. No one is finding players without many weaknesses. Thatt being said, Bell has the athleticism to succeed at the next level and showed an impressive ability to improve illustrated by his five sacks in the last four games of his senior season. There is a long way for Bell to go if he wants to become a player that regular sees the field, but he has the physical traits to make an impact (far) down the line.Fit with RaidersYou can’t ever have too many pass rushers and Oakland needs pass rushers badly. Bell has the physical traits, but no experience and technique. If the coaching staff can help him improve his technique, he could eventually find himself out on the field in pass rush situations, but most likely that’s a ways off. The Raiders drafted running back Josh Jacobs in the first round, and after veteran Isaiah Crowell tore his Achilles this week, the team reportedly is bringing back veteran Doug Martin.Does that close the door on a return by Marshawn Lynch?A report last week indicated Lynch is not planning to play again. But Steve Wyche of NFL Media reports that Lynch would return if the Raiders called. The Raiders said they would revisit Lynch’s future after the draft, but they now appear to have a crowded running back room with Jacobs, Martin, Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington and Chris Warren. If Oakland is inclined to consider re-signing Lynch, he likely would have to agree to a limited role. Jacobs will start and get the bulk of the carries.Lynch, 33, spent the past two seasons suiting up for his hometown team. He played only six games in 2018 because of a core muscle injury.Lynch and Martin combined for 262 carries for 1,099 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

that sealed the team’s postseason fate Von Miller Jersey White , the crew at First and 10 @ 10 on Orange and Blue Radio considered whether it is important (to fans) for the Broncos to avoid a losing season and finish 8-8 or if losing for a better draft position might ultimately be better for the team. And this morphed into a much more interesting conversation about what the road map should be for the Broncos’ addressing the quarterback situation down the road.Case Keenum is about to finish a very mediocre - some would say sub-par - first season of a two-year contract. Given his salary and cap hit, it’s highly unlikely the Broncos do anything to unload Keenum in the offseason. But after a game in which Keenum led the offense to just one touchdown (and a total of 16 points, one shy of the win) but also threw two interceptions, it is clear No. 4 is not the long-term answer - and may not even finish the 2019 season as the starter if a better young prospect could come along. So what do the Broncos do in the 2019 Draft? The 2020 Draft? Free agency in 2020?The way Andrew Mason sees it (check out the 15-minute mark of the broadcast), a good approach for the Broncos would be to find a quarterback in the second or third round of the 2019 Draft - like Duke’s David Jones or NC State’s Ryan Finley - and see how he might develop behind Keenum next year. And maybe if Keenum has a very average or below average year, the rookie gets the reins. Listen to "Podcast 1st and 10 12-17-18 HOUR 1" on Spreaker.“Get them in your building, see how they’re coming along in practice and preseason, maybe they get an opportunity later on, and if they end up being the guy that shows signs of being one of those outstanding quarterbacks down the line, then you don’t have to pick a quarterback in 2020,” Mason noted. “But if they don’t show that ceiling, then you haven’t wasted too much in draft capital, you used a second day pick but then you’re still free to pick ‘that guy’ in 2020.”Mason used Seahawks’ Russell Wilson as an example. Seattle had planned to make Matt Flynn the starting QB in 2012. And when the Seahawks came to Denver for a preseason game, Wilson played the entire second half and showed enough for coaches to deem him the starter.“He ends up being beyond anyone’s expectations and seizes the job,” Mason added. “But if he hadn’t developed, the Seahawks would have just picked another young quarterback down the line.”That approach seems to be the right one for the Broncos, Mase argues, saying the main thing is that it’s “important to have as many options as possible when planning for both short and long term.” “Because for all the questions around the organization right now, the long-term quarterback answer is question No.1,” Mason said. “That’s the question you have to answer, and you can overcommit resources until you get that answer.”I like Mase’s thinking because so far the quarterback class in 2019 is not looking outstanding - or at least the few good ones within the Broncos’ reach - and the Broncos have some other needs on defense that could be a good use of the first-round pick (and if you want to suggest trading Von Miller for a QB, don’t even talk to me). Looking for a potential gem on Day 2 of the draft who could either turn out to be brilliant or just “ok” would at least let the Broncos know if they must go after a QB in 2020.But I’m curious how you would advise John Elway on the QB situation for the short or long term? For instance, consider his comments about several marquis players:On Von Miller:On Chris Harris Jr.:On what he’s learned about Joe Flacco:On Brendan Langley at wide receiver:On how young quarterbacks need to improveIf we’ve written it once, we’ve written it a thousand times on here - Fangio is a no-nonsense coach. And as my good friend Larry Dyer III at “Bears Talk Underground” reminded me, “Fangio could give zero F’s what you think of what he’s doing.”Jess Place, Tim Lynch and I talked about this on our podcast this week - Fangio’s approach is genuine - and it is such a relief.Because this time of year, as Broncos fans Royce Freeman Jersey , we tend to get very optimistic about our team’s chances. The good, bad and ugly of the previous season has mostly disappeared, and the promise of a new season with a new approach, better scheme, good players added is staring us down, begging us to believe in a playoff-bound, ass-kicking team with a new QB who will take us to the Promise Land.As Mancar noted, “the great thing about football is the rebirth of positivity and hype every year.”But for the first time since Gary Kubiak became head coach in 2015 (and before that, who knows) - the excitement actually feels believable. Like, it’s not just the Kool-Aid; the team is actually good.Because Fangio is getting it done, and it’s already noticeable in the attitudes of players - from not wanting to be the idiot whose screwup on the field is watched by everyone on film to believing they all have to earn their spot on the roster, no matter what their name is.Ed Donatell, defensive coordinator who has worked with Fangio for years, said this is exactly who Fangio has always been.“He really has never changed very much in eight years,” Donatell said. “It’s just what I thought it would be when he took over as the head coach. He’s really into the game management part of it and the details and the little things and that’s showing up in our football team.”Rich Scangarello, a first-time offensive coordinator, said it has been exciting being part of “Vic’s plan” because of the details he worries about - and therefore prepares for - in situational football.“He’s going to force the players and the coaches into uncomfortable situations that remind them of game day,” Scangarello said. “With that comes the task of thinking fast and putting guys in positions to make plays, and them having to think on their own on the field. ...I’m really excited about it and the guys have embraced it. I think it’s made us a better team.”I certainly think so, but you can think what you want.Either way, Fangio will give zero Fs what either of us thinks and just continue to coach football.Horse Tracks - docllv’s picks of the dayNotes from Broncos minicamp, Day 2Joe Flacco and Courtland Sutton connected for multiple touchdowns ... and game management and situational football continued to be at the heart of the team’s on-field work.Observations from Day 1 of Broncos mandatory minicamp – The AthleticJoe Flacco shows off his "cannon" for an arm, Vic Fangio sees improvement in Von Miller and much more.Horse TracksManning Men Visit Broncos During Day 2 Of Mini-Camp – CBS DenverDenver's "sheriff" made an appearance at the Broncos' mini-camp on Wednesday.Denver Broncos: Archie and Peyton Manning attended practice WednesdayArchie and Peyton Manning watched the Broncos' second minicamp practice of 2019 in person.Denver Broncos: Drew Lock ‘slowly making strides’ at minicamp practiceBroncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock is on the right track.Scangarello: Lindsay is 'one of the more dynamic players' in NFLRich Scangarello can't wait to unleash Phillip Lindsay in the Broncos' offense.Broncos RB Lindsay (wrist) to be ready for campBroncos coach Vic Fangio said Wednesday that running back Phillip Lindsay, who is recovering from right wrist surgery, will be ready for full participation when training camp begins next month.Leaving a legacy: An inside look at how Von Miller is putting his stamp on NFL history via his Pass Rush SummitIf Las Vegas is an oasis in the midst of a desert, Miller’s third annual Pass Rush Summit may be the lone haven for defenders looking to make an impact in an increasingly offensively minded league.Instant chemistry over cauliflower sold Gerald McCoy on Panthers - Carolina Panthers Blog- ESPNThe fellowship that Gerald McCoy felt with Panthers players over a vegan lunch last week put Carolina over the top.Broncos' Ron Leary glad to be back at his preferred right guard position, and more from Day 2 of minicampRon Leary said Wednesday he is back at home as the Broncos’ right guard, debunking the belief that left guard was his preferred position.Ron Leary has 'no restrictions' in practice, Phillip Lindsay set to return for training camp“I feel like I’m very close,” Lindsay said.Denver Broncos news: NFL announces finalized 2019 preseason scheduleWe now know the dates and times for all of the Broncos' 2019 preseason games.

As per Mike Prisuta of WDVE Radio and Steelers.com, while Bush was not in there for the first snap of the day, it appears that he saw a significant amount of time with the starting unit on day one of OTAs, seemingly being given every opportunity to show the coaching staff what he can do from the outset. The ability of the young rookie to be able communicate with the rest of the defense will be key to his development in the early stages of his career, especially if he is to be charged with the task of calling the plays in the huddle. A learning curve that Williams and Cam Heyward are helping him with in their own different ways. When speaking to the media after practice, Heyward was understandably reluctant to get too excited about the rookie’s performance after only one day of training out of pads. But also made it clear that he would do what he could to help the former Michigan product adjust to life in the NFL, despite the obvious college rivalry. As reported by Sarah Spencer of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. And while Barron might be his rival for the starting role, the offseason free agent signing had nothing put positive things to say about his young rival when talking to reporters.Of all of the position battles set to be fought this offseason Ryan Switzer Jersey , the one between Barron and Bush could well be the most interesting to watch. But it perhaps worth acknowledging the relative unimportance of who runs with which unit at this stage in the year. If Bush is dominating the first team snap counts when the team gets to Latrobe, that will be the time to really take notice. No one, of course, would dispute that at this point in the season, it being a divisional game and the division being rather bunched up, that this Sunday’s game is important. Though our tie makes tie-breaker rules largely inapplicable, divisional record is high up on the tiebreaker list. More important still, a victory for us means a loss for the Ravens, and vice-versa. There is Mason Rudolph Jersey , however, another reason why this game is important- the quality of the opponent. For years now Steeler Nation has held its collective breath when playing a gimme, a game against a bad team, like, say, the Browns. We have lost more of these than we should have. When we don't lose to such a team, such as last week's victory against a team like, say, the Browns Ernie Stautner Jersey , the next issue is this- but we aren’t good enough to run with the Chiefs or the Patriots. That may be true. We’ve already lost to the Chiefs. But a Super Bowl run isn’t always dependent upon whether team a is better than team b, but on whether team a can somehow manage to win and move on. It is a rare thing indeed for a consensus top seed to win the Super Bowl.In between these two polls are games like our upcoming game with the Ravens- a game against a team that is somewhere in the middle, a potential playoff team. These too are games that we have to win. What separates one playoff team from another is usually much less than what separates a playoff team from an also ran. As is usually the case, one of these two teams will almost certainly be going to the playoffs this year. If we win, it will make it far more likely that team will be us. We can’t count on rookie mistakes, like we could when facing Baker Mayfield. Joe Flacco may be on the downhill side of his career, but he is a veteran who has won a lot of games. We can’t count on a defense that is just beginning to gel as the Browns’ D is. We’ll be facing the Ravens, who, even when they are bad Joe Haden Jersey , come to play defense. We can’t count on facing a coach who either should have been fired long ago (Lewis) or one who was about to get fired (Jackson.) We’re facing John Harbaugh who is at worst, competent, and at best, pretty good. No one, I don’t think, is expecting the Steelers to run away with the conference. We already know we’re not that good right now. So the question before us is, do we have the talent to make a run? This game will go a long way in answering that question. If we can play a full game, beginning to end, I am confident we’re going to like the answer. If we don’t James Washington Jersey , we may still make the playoffs, but we should expect an early exit. Our tests, of course, don’t stop Sunday. After the Ravens game we will still have to face three teams currently sitting in the top 5 spots of at least some Power Rankings, and two more in the top 10. Some of those we are likely to lose. Hopefully, however, we won’t lose twice this year to any team, and will find ourselves playing in February.

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Coach Jay Gruden's Washington Redskins have established a pattern: When they get a lead, they win; when they trail, they lose. The Redskins (5-3) are the only one of the NFL's 32 teams that both has managed to avoid a single loss after holding a lead AND also has failed to come back to win a game after trailing. The first is good Da’Ron Payne Jersey , of course. The latter could prove to be truly problematic as the season progresses if the offense overseen by Gruden and carried out by quarterback Alex Smith continues to be as ineffective as it's been. "I don't think we're probably even aware" of Washington's inability to erase a deficit this season, Smith said Wednesday, then added: "Certainly we've been in a lot of games that have been back-and-forth."That last assertion is not accurate. Not at all.During each of the Redskins' eight games this season, whichever team scored first not only won — it never fell behind. Not even once.In last week's 38-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Washington was down 14-0 early, cut that to 14-7, then never got closer."It's just a mindset really: You're never out of it until the final gun. We've just got to keep playing. I don't think guys played less hard because we got down. We just didn't make enough plays to come back," Gruden said. "That's something we need to figure out: a way to put our players in position to, A, get the ball back when were on defense and, B, get the ball in the end zone at a decent rate on offense."Heading into the NFC East leaders' game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5) on Sunday, the Redskins are putting up a mere 20 points and 343.9 yards per game, which both rank 25th. No team below them in either of those two categories has a record above .500.The Bucs Derrius Guice Jersey , in contrast, rank No. 7 in points at 28.6, and No. 2 in yards at 446.8.It's the defense that's been Tampa Bay's downfall while losing five of its past six games — worst in the league in points, allowing an average of 34.4, and third-worst in passing yardage, at 307.1.An inability to mount a comeback is typically the mark of a bad club.Currently, the only teams other than Washington without an erase-a-deficit victory this season are the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars, who are both 3-5.Over the previous four complete seasons, the only two teams to go an entire campaign without even one such win were the 2017 Cleveland Browns of 0-16 infamy and the 2017 New York Giants, who were 3-13.During Gruden's 4½ years in charge of Washington, it owns 15 victories in games in which it trailed, which is just the 27th-best total in the NFL. The teams with fewer? The Browns (9), Jaguars (10), Giants (13) Geron Christian Jersey , Chicago Bears (13) and Indianapolis Colts (14)."You can probably count on one hand how many comeback wins we've had since I've been here," Gruden said, exaggerating a bit. "That's something that we have got to do a better job of."Notes: At the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, two of the three offensive linemen signed off the street Monday lined up with the starting unit, with Jon Cooper at left guard and Austin Howard at right tackle. Morgan Moses, the regular RT, worked by himself on a separate field, wearing a big brace on the right knee he injured against Atlanta, although he could be ready to play instead of Howard by Sunday. … The other linemen were Ty Nsekhe at LT, Chase Roullier at C, Tony Bergstrom at RG.

Football has the shortest regular season of any professional sport, and the league has consistently looked to make the regular season longer. Hockey, baseball and basketball have seasons that last well over half a year, while football is a mere four months long.To that end, the NFL owners seem to have proposed something to the NFL Player’s Union that would lengthen the season without giving them any more actual games to play.Perhaps you’ve watched in dismay as a basketball game is played in your area only to find one of the team’s stars is sitting with a DNP- Load Management. The NBA season is long and grueling, and the Spurs became known for sitting their star players in irrelevant games to keep them fresh for the playoffs. That practice has since spread to other teams, and in baseball it has always been the policy to give players a day off here and there since they play almost every day.Football, however, is an entirely different animal. Imagine a quarterback playing without his star left tackle or best interior lineman. With a move like this Derrick Johnson Jersey , star players are even more at risk. Or imagine paying good money to see a football game only to find out you’ll be watching the backup quarterback today. The quality of the product as a whole would be seriously underwhelming, akin to a preseason game. The owners usually get what they want, but the league already has problems stemming from having too many players hurt all the time. If the owners wanted this, they’d have to expand the rosters considerably and add a few dozen roster spots. Cutdown day after training camp would be way less painful than it used to be, but that also means more fringe players making a pro roster.Imagine being a TV network like Fox and you have a Seahawks vs. Rams game on the schedule. That should bring in a ton of viewers! Whoops, no, it’s Geno Smith vs. Blake Bortles today. Everyone turns the channel to CBS to watch Tom Brady vs. Sam Darnold. Fox cries into their Cheerios. The teams already play 20 games in a regular season. Four of them are preseason exhibitions which cost the same for fans as regular season games. If owners are hell bent on playing 18 regular season games, why not add a second bye week? Or, cut out two preseason games and expand the roster to 75 players. How much film do you need? Maybe guys like Keon Hatcher, who earned a roster spot based on the fourth preseason game, would object, but with an expanded roster it probably wouldn’t matter in the end.If there’s one thing the NFL does well, it’s sacrificing the well-being of its players on the altar of cash-grabbing, and frankly that’s the sort of thing a strong union exists to prevent. More football is always a good thing Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Jersey , but this is a monumentally stupid idea as it is. Ryan Grant‘s free agency was a lot quieter this year than last year, but he has found his new team, in Oakland. The Raiders have signed Grant, a wide receiver who spent last year in Indianapolis, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.Last year Grant signed a four-year, $29 million contract with the Ravens, a contract that was immediately met with derision because Grant’s career up to that point — four years as a backup in Washington — wouldn’t seem to justify that kind of contract. Then the contract was voided when the Ravens announced that Grant had failed his physical because of an ankle injury. After that Grant couldn’t find anything close to that kind of market, and he ended up signing a one-year, $5 million deal. He finished the season with 35 catches for 334 yards and one touchdown.Michael Gehlken of the reports that Grant can earn a maximum of $2.5 million this season from the Raiders, and only if he hits incentives. Suffice to say he’s never going to get back the money he missed out on in Baltimore. In Oakland he joins a receiving corps that includes three other newcomers: Antonio, Tyrell Williams and JJ Nelson.
