Thank you, John ElwayWhen I was a kid, maybe 10 years old, I had only one wish for my birthday - I just wanted a bike. My brother had a bike, and I just wanted to be able to explore the world and be the next Evil Knievel while doing crazy things alongside my older brother. Since I was a shy kid (hard to imagine I know) I didn’t ever get the courage to tell my parents that was what I wished for. I just waited and hoped and prayed that I would get my two-wheeled steed. My birthday came, and I didn’t think I would get my gift. I wanted it; I still hoped for it, but I thought I would get G.I Joes like I had the last few years (which I also loved, BTW). My hopes and expectations and what my parents would actually do were not likely to collide and bring me the joy that only a ten-year-old can feel. Party time came and since I didn’t see a bike in the living room I sat dejected with my head down and nearly in tears at the fact that I only had little gifts to unwrap and no bike. Of course, my wonderful parents then brought me outside to show me my new, gorgeous means of transportation. I was beyond words. I don’t think I even said thank you, I just jumped on the thing and rode off into the sunset, as happy as a person can be in this life. During this last weekend I felt like I was 10 again.I hoped and wished for Elway to have learned from his first few drafts where he picked highly talented guys with questionable character because they “fell in the draft.” I dreamed about a team that was built both around superior talent but also around leadership skills and a high locker room morality. I prayed that No. 7 would pick guys who love the game, who play football the right way and most importantly that they be people who want to go to work as Broncos. As the first round rolled on (2 a.m. in Germany) and the Broncos traded their #10 pick for some extra picks later in the draft, my head dropped like ten-year-old Kevin and my dream for the big gift was squashed, since apparently I would only receive a few more smaller gifts instead of the big one that I had hoped for. Then, they drafted Noah Fant at No. 20.Fant is a guy that we have talked about before and is a perfect fit with this team both right now and in the future. In the Scangarello offense and with Joe Flacco at QB, I truly believe that this Iowa alum could be a top-five tight end as a rookie. Maybe Fant himself wasn’t the full bike, but he was one of the wheels.I went to bed Friday night (sorry Peyton Manning Jersey , couldn’t do two straight all-nighters) with real hope blooming in my heart after they had gotten a great player at No. 20 and had added pieces to bring in more impactful talent. Now, the questions was, what would they do with those extra picks? Would they be able to use them well enough to make the trade back worth it? When I woke up, the questions were answered and I wasn’t disappointed.Elway had managed to draft a local beast of an offensive lineman who was often mocked to go in the first round. Dalton Risner is a tough, very high-character guy who claims that he would rather have been picked by the Broncos at #41 than any other team in the first round. That’s awesome. My bike had it’s second wheel. I started to feel giddy like a school boy and then I saw what they had done with the very next pick in the second round.Drew Lock, the QB that was very often predicted to go at No. 10 to the Broncos, had fallen and Elway wasn’t going to let go of a guy who he valued highly as a gunslinger - just not as a first round talent - so he picked him with the 42nd pick in the draft. He landed his guy who could become a franchise player at a position in the draft that brings zero pressure to Lock or the Broncos. If he pans out, great. If not, not big deal. They hadn’t given up too much and they had landed a highly touted passer that has all the skills but needs to learn the more intricate parts of playing the toughest position in sports. Great pick. Super value, no pressure and monstrous potential. The bike was whole. Shining in all it’s glory. The rest of the draft was just extra finery to add on to what the Germans call a “Fahrrad.” My joy was complete. All of my wishes had been granted. The Broncos had drafted high-character players that are the BPA and fill a position of need. They picked players that will immediately impact the team but also have the potential to be the building blocks of a decade long run of greatness. Though I forgot to thank my parents, I can thank John Elway. I want to thank him for bringing in players that we can be proud of putting on the orange and blue. Ambassadors to the sport and to our city of Denver. I want to thank him for adding great talent and apparently spreading rumors like a cool headed boss that made other teams make mistakes (ala NYG) that eventually helped our team. Most importantly I want to thank him for giving this team a direction and a character that we can get behind and feel excited about. The 2019 Denver Broncos draft picks WANT to play for the Denver Broncos and I for one am overjoyed that they are part of our team and can’t wait to see them on the field this September and for many years to come! Also, for my next birthday, I would love a bike. (Thanks, mom and dad!) CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Denver had lost six of their last seven going into Sunday’s game against Los Angeles, but Chargers coach Anthony Lynn kept warning everyone that the Broncos were dangerous because they had been in most of their games until the final minute.Lynn’s words became prophetic as Brandon McManus kicked a last-second 34-yard field goal to give the Broncos a 23-22 win and snap the Chargers’ six-game winning streak.“We’ve been in four or five of these games and didn’t make enough plays to win. Today we didn’t hope to win, we made plays to win,” Denver coach Vance Joseph said.Article continues below ...Denver got the ball at its own 8 with 1:51 remaining, and Case Keenum orchestrated a seven-play, 76-yard drive. Keenum, who was 19 of 32 for 205 yards John Elway Jersey , completed five passes for 86 yards during the drive, including a 30-yarder to Courtland Sutton to the Denver 16. Keenum then spiked the ball and McManus’ kick split the uprights. It was McManus’ second game-winning field goal this season and the fifth of his career. It also helped erase memories of two weeks ago, when his 51-yard attempt went wide right as time expired in a 19-17 loss to Houston.“I think we’ve had three or four close ones that have come down to it and Brandon has made those kicks and we trust him,” Keenum said. “It feels good. A lot better than the alternative.”Wide receiver Keenan Allen, who had nine receptions for 89 yards and a TD, succinctly summed up why the Chargers (7-3) lost when he said, “Penalties. Turnovers. Not making plays at the end of the game.”Philip Rivers, who threw for 401 yards, had two interceptions and Los Angeles committed 14 penalties, including 10 in the first half. Mike Badgley, who made three field goals, also missed an extra point that ended up looming large.“Those are things we’ve stayed away from — penalties and turnovers — but they showed up today. For whatever reason, I don’t know. We’ll figure it out, though,” coach Anthony Lynn said.Denver’s talented rookie offensive trio of Phillip Lindsay, Royce Freeman and Sutton had big games.Lindsay had 11 carries for 79 yards with two touchdowns. His 41-yard TD run early in the second quarter, which put Denver up 7-6, was set up the play before when the Broncos successfully executed a fake punt with punter Colby Waldman throwing a 12-yard pass to fullback Andy Janovich for a first down. It was the second straight week the Chargers allowed a fake punt. The undrafted rookie also had a 2-yard TD on a direct snap early in the fourth quarter to give Denver a 20-19 lead.“We knew that going in that they were physical and athletic, but for us, we just went out there and knew we needed to be physical, too Ronald Leary Jersey ,” Lindsay said. “We knew that we were going to have run the ball in order for us to win this game.”Freeman, who missed two games with an ankle injury, had seven carries for 23 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown to bring the Broncos within 19-14.Three plays earlier, Von Miller swung momentum back in Denver’s favor when he picked off Rivers on a screen pass and returned it 40 yards to the Chargers’ 18. It was Miller’s first interception in a regular-season game since 2012.“The interception turned the game around, to me. That spun the whole game,” Rivers said. “It was about to be a blowout, and he made that play, and then it’s a touchdown and then all of a sudden he made it a game.”Sutton tied a career high with 78 yards on three catches.Rivers, who had his 11th 400-yard passing game, completed 28 of 43, but it was the seventh time the Chargers have lost when he has passed for over 400.The 15-year veteran became the sixth quarterback in league history to throw at least two touchdown passes in each of his team’s first 10 games to start a season. He eluded the blitz and threw a 4-yard pass to a wide-open Allen late in the second quarter to put Los Angeles on top 13-6. He then threw a 6-yard TD to Antonio Gates on the opening possession of the second half.Melvin Gordon had 158 yards from scrimmage (89 rushing, 69 receiving), marking the sixth straight game he has had 130 yards or more.MOMENTOUS SACKMiller’s sack of Rivers in the second quarter gave him 10 for the season, which allowed him to join Reggie White and DeMarcus Ware as the only players with 10 or more sacks in seven of their first eight seasons. He is also the fifth-fastest player to reach 100 career sacks among players who began their careers in 1982 or later.BOSA RETURNSChargers defensive end Joey Bosa made his season debut after missing the first nine games with a bone bruise to his left foot. The third-year lineman did not start but was in on pass-rushing situations.INJURIESChargers defensive tackle Corey Liuget was carted to the locker room with a knee injury during the second quarter. Lynn said it appears as if the eighth-year lineman might be out for the rest of the season, but the team will know more on Monday.Denver wide receiver DeSean Hamilton suffered a knee injury in the second quarter, and cornerback Bradley Roby was evaluated for a concussion in the fourth quarter.UP NEXTBroncos: Host the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.Chargers: Host the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.

The former Atlanta Legends defensive backs will be joined in Pittsburgh by a fellow former Legend in linebacker J.T. Craig recorded 4tackles and 2.5 sacks with San Antonio.Jones signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2017, remaining on their practice squad throughout his rookie season. Broncos are clearly planning to “win now” ... right?Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsIn Broncoland it seems that every day the gap between those who love John Elway as GM and those who hate him grows wider. Those who hate him claim that any success the team saw from 2012 to 2015 was thanks only to Peyton Manning and the influence he had in bringing in other top free agents. Those who love him claim that he built one of the greatest offenses and greatest defenses of all time in only a matter of a few seasons and are willing to forgive him his (especially recent) faults as a talent evaluator. Of course, as with all things, the truth is undoubtedly somewhere in the middle. Is he the greatest GM of all time? No, probably not. Is he the worst? No, probably not. But still we see the Twittersphere and comment sections boiling to the brim with factions from both sides duking it out over the ineptitude or...eptitude of the Broncos’ current General Manager.I’m personally on team Elway and though I do think he has dug a deep hole for himself and the team the last few years, it’s not something that hasn’t happened a million times to other teams in the NFL and it’s not like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Of course I could argue my point about Elway being the bomb for a good 3,000 words but I would probably lose half of the readers after the words “I’m team Elway”, so I’ll stick to trying to decipher if this team really is headed in the right direction under the guidance of #7.As everyone and their mother knows by now, the Broncos signed an older but very solid defensive back yesterday - Kareem Jackson - to a contract that seems quite fair in this insane market. Then they went and made Juwan James the highest paid right tackle in the league and spent a huge chunk of their available money in the process. The feelings in the public forumsabout this move are about as varied as those about Elway as G.M and they seem to run along the same lines with the above mentioned factions. For those who hate Elway, any questionable move is, of course, anathema. For those who love him, it’s the greatest signing since PFM. For me, it’s again, somewhere in the middle. He’s a guy with very solid talent and huge upside that fits a need but comes at a cray cray price and could become a bad overpay if he doesn’t progress as a tackle. Since he will have OL whisperer, Mike Munchak, saying sweet nothings into his ear and telling him how good a boy he is, there seems little doubt in the minds of team Elway that he will become the best RT in football. Maybe. Each move the front office has made this offseason indicates that they are in a “win now” or at least a “win soon” mode and that obviously is good news for Broncos’ fans. They re-signed Sanders and Shelby Harris, added a veteran CB and NFL proven RT, hired a grizzled old head coach and traded for Joe Flacco. This in no way looks like a rebuild of any sort. Yay for us....right?Only, the issue is that it’s only good to be in a “win now” mode if you are good enough to...win now. To really succeed in the NFL in 2019 means that you have to have some group or at least a few players that are great. The Broncos have, in my opinion, one great player (Von), one very, very good player (CHJ), one super high potential player (Lindsay) and a good defensive line (Chubb, Wolfe, Harris, Von). Other positions rank anywhere from solid to horrible.Yes, that’s all from my own grading system (which is proven to be about as accurate as PFF by the way) and you may - and most certainly will - disagree with me. Keep in mind though, that I am an Elway apologist. I defend him at nearly every turn and look at him as the GOAT who can practically do no wrong but I still am left incredibly uninspired by this team as it sits right now. This could change in a manner of days with some great F.A additions or in April with a phenomenal draft but it will have to be something off the charts to boost my feeings about the Broncos and “winning now”. It’s rarely that we see a solid or good team win the Super Bowl unless they are led by a HOF QB or coach. Philadelphia a few years back is maybe the best example of a team that had few “greats” but still managed by the sum of their parts to win the trophy. Maybe the Broncos can immitate that team and through gutsy coaching, team effort, a streaky QB and a lot of luck, they can still be playing football in February. Here’s to hoping. (AP) — No, Phillip Lindsay never once thought he’d become the first undrafted offensive player to make the Pro Bowl. He’s been too busy making tacklers miss and general managers regret passing him over in the NFL draft just because he stands 5-foot-8.“I’m an undrafted free agent. To be able to have 100 yards in a game was great. To get a touchdown, to be able to play at (Mile High Stadium), that’s the stuff right there that I dreamt about,” the Denver Broncos‘ rookie running back said Wednesday. “The Pro Bowl is something that you think like five years down the line, three years down the line.”After waiting seven rounds and never hearing his name called or his phone buzz on draft weekend Shannon Sharpe Jersey , Lindsay signed with his hometown Broncos and when he survived cuts after training camp, he sought Hall of Famer Terrell Davis’ blessing to wear his old No. 30 jersey .Yet, Lindsay said he’s been so focused on his next opponent that he didn’t even ponder the possibility of making the Pro Bowl when a couple of Cleveland Browns players told him after their game Saturday night that “our whole linebacker room voted for you for the Pro Bowl.”Excluding special teams players, the only other undrafted rookie to make the Pro Bowl was Dallas Cowboys defensive back Everson Walls in 1981.“That tells you what he’s done,” coach Vance Joseph said. “His first day with us, he was the sixth halfback on the depth chart. The sixth! Obviously, being a rookie free agent. Didn’t go to the combine. Wasn’t drafted. … He came in here just trying to make our football team.”Lindsay started out as a special teams stud and didn’t even start in the backfield until midway through the season.“Now, he’s in the Pro Bowl, so that speaks to his work ethic, his heart and his talent,” Joseph said. “So, it’s amazing what he’s accomplished in such a short time.”Although Lindsay said, “Nobody knew about me when I got here, other than I was little,” teammate Bradley Roby said the veterans sure took notice of him right away.“Very impressive. I know this, when he first got here, OTAs, you kind of feel the rookies out, see how they move. And I always felt that his movement was good,” Roby said. “I was like, ‘This guy’s fast, he’s quick, accelerates.’ I was thinking like if he can run with the pads on, he’s going to be nice.“And he’s done nothing but prove that he’s worth. He should have been drafted, obviously. He’s a gem.”The wild-haired rookie cracked up his teammates during team introductions by saying, “I’m Phillip Lindsay, I’m from Colorado. And I went to Colorado.”Short and sweet.Just like his stride. The first player from the Broncos Futures Football middle school program to sign an NFL contract, Lindsay grew up in Aurora not far from the Broncos headquarters, and starred at Denver South High School and the University of Colorado, where his wild hair and relentless rushing style earned him the nickname “Tasmanian Devil.”Lindsay, who is nine rushing yards shy of 1,000 and whose 5.5-yard average is second in the league, said he’s eager to go to the Pro Bowl with teammate Von Miller, the game’s reigning MVP, and he’s also eager to finally meet Saquon Barkley, the running back from Penn State whom the Giants drafted second overall.Barkley is the only rookie running back who has more yards (1,155) than he does (991), although both have nine touchdown runs.“It’s going to be fun to be able to finally talk to Saquon,” Lindsay said. “We always heard about each other, but we never got to see each other. So, it will be cool to hang out with each other.”Lindsay had hoped to meet Barkley at the NFL combine last spring but he never received an invitation to the league’s annual gathering of top draft hopefuls, a snub that’s driven him all season along with going undrafted two months later.Lindsay said he hopes his remarkable rise will inspire kids everywhere who are overlooked underdogs.“You’ve got to keep pushing, you just never know. You’ve got to keep the faith no matter what,” Lindsay said. “Everybody can take anything from you, but they can’t take your faith. That’s what you’ve got to rely on. You’ve got to go for your dreams.”

During his junior and senior seasons, he started 24 games, and played both left and right tackle during his senior year. His senior year was sufficiently accomplished that he was named Second Team All Mountain West in 2018. His athleticism comps are impressive - approximating guys like Ryan Ramczyk (first round pick), Andrus Peat (first round pick), Orlando Franklin (second round pick), and Mike Adams (second round pick) - but the concern is that his technique and the application of his strength aren’t producing a on-the-field product that matches. To top it all off, Pope was manhandled by Jordan Brailford in the Shrine Game, surrendering a sack, and likely hampering his draft stock.StrengthsPlayed both right and left tackleGreat athleticism NastyRun blockingSizeWeaknessesNeeds to get strongerFootworkPass blockingLet’s see his workHow He Would Fit On The RedskinsPope was a medalist at the Underwear Olympics, but there appears to be a significant gap between his potential and his reality. So, if scouting staff and Bill Callahan see an opportunity to successfully mold a guy like Pope, he could potentially be a late round or UDFA steal. Pope’s versatility at the line is reminiscent of Geron Christian’s, and if the coaching staff are confident that Christian is making the necessary strides, a player like Pope may be superfluous. On the other hand, Pope’s athleticism may be sufficiently attractive that he could be brought into camp to compete for the swing tackle role outright. Injuries were the theme of the 2018 season along the Washington offensive line.Nine different offensive linemen played at least 200 offensive snaps for the team as they mixed and matched on a weekly basis to fill out the unit. One of the biggest losses was right guard Brandon Scherff, who was lost for the year at midseason to a torn pectoral muscle.Scherff said this week that he feels he is back to about 90 percent and expects to be “ready to go” in time for training camp.“I think it was just a fluke injury,” Scherff said, via the team’s website. “My arm got caught in a weird position, and my pec popped. There’s nothing you can really train for that injury, but it’s all about getting stronger and eating healthier — I’ve been doing that a lot better — and just not worrying about [the injury]. Just going out and playing football.”Washington has to figure out its starting quarterback for the 2019 season, but life will be better for whoever gets that job if the team’s able to field a consistent offensive line this time around.

When you follow a football team for as long as I have the Steelers—39 years and counting (certainly not trying to impress with my fan “credentials”)—you get a sense of where it is at at any given time during the season. Of course Zach Gentry Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey , you didn’t need 39 years of following a team to know Pittsburgh was in a sweet little spot as it traveled to Baltimore to take on the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday. Winners of three straight, the Steelers didn’t just right the ship after their 1-2-1 start, they looked very impressive in doing so—and on both sides of the ball, for good measure. Yeah, sure, but the Ravens were the team that came into Heinz Field just five weeks earlier and handed Pittsburgh its third non-win in four games with a very methodical 26-14 road win on Sunday Night Football. In football—in most sports, really—the match-up makes the match, so why would things be different this time around—even if the Steelers were rolling and the Ravens were reeling? Because, as I said just last week, a match-up also comes down to when the match is played, and the Steelers have figured some things out since that unfortunate performance on September 30. It showed in the Steelers’ balanced attack on offense that included 282 yards through the air and 113 on the ground. It showed on third and fourth downs, where Pittsburgh was a very impressive 11 of 17. It once again showed in the protection afforded to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who was only sacked once all day—and that came at the end of the game when taking a sack was preferableto throwing an incomplete pass that would have left the Ravens with way more than the 44 seconds they had to try a last-gasp attempt to get downfield and tie the score. It showed in time of possession, where the Steelers’ kept its always suspect until further notice defense off the field for 36:29. Pittsburgh’s offensive attack may have started a little slow, with its first possession lasting six plays and resulting in zero points. But the next two possessions netted 21 plays, 136 yards and 14 points, which played a huge role in establishing a 14-6 halftime lead. As for the defensive effort, while there may have been a few too many penalties—especially of the pass interference variety—it was all you could ask for, considering the Ravens only totaled 269 yards and foundthe end zone just once on the day. Keith Butler’s unit didn’t harassquarterback Joe Flacco the entire afternoon, but the pressure was consistent and played a big part in holding Baltimore to just four conversions on 13 attempts on third and fourth downs. Despite being slight road underdogs, to reiterate, you just had the sense the Steelers would take the action to Baltimore on Sunday and control things from beginning to end. And that’s exactly what happened. The victory improved the Steelers’ record to 5-2-1 on the year, while Baltimore dropped its third straight to fall to 4-5. The Steelers are now at the halfway point of their 2018 campaign, and while it’s still relatively early, they certainly look like the team destined to win the AFC North yet again. That all remains to be seen, of course, but the Steelers are clearly in a pretty sweet spot right now, and what they did to the Ravens on Sunday seemed pretty predictable at kickoff. In case you didn’t know Zach Gentry Jersey 2019 , the Steelers and Antonio Brown are on the outs. This has happened before between the two parties—the fights, the disagreements, the hurt feelings—but the issues were always resolved. However, unlike real-life couples who vow to never go to bed angry at one another, the Steelers and their star wide receiver have spent many nights—weeks, actually—not only angry at each other, but engaging in the old silent treatment--at least the star receiver has.Brown is incommunicado with his employer at the moment, but, gosh darn it, he’s vowed to come out with his side of the story One. Of. These. Days. For their part, the Steelers don’t seem to be too emotionally distraught over Brown’s latest reason for giving them the old silent treatment, and it has been reported that parting ways with him via trade is something the organization is seriously considering. I get it, I really do. I’m getting fed up with Brown’s antics, too. Of course, I never thought these antics would tempt the Steelers to get rid of him, a legacy player, someone who is already one of the greatest in team history. But, then again, I don’t have to live with Brown. I don’t have to work with Brown. And, perhaps, most importantly, I don’t have to reason with Brown on a seemingly endless basis. The Steelers owners, general manager, coaches and players must do all of these things, which is why they may be as willing to part ways with Brown as your average Facebook poster who says “Get rid of/fire him!” without really worrying about the consequences. And the consequences of parting ways with Brown may be huge. Sure, you’re losing a constant distraction, but you’re also losing the greatest receiver in the game. Sure, you might bet your jollies off watching a frustrated Brown fall to pieces on a totally horrible Jets team. But would you get your jollies off watching the likes of Eli Rogers and the totally unproven James Washington try to replace him? This is just a guess but probably not—not unless you have a different idea of what getting your jollies off means. They say you can’t win with a player like Brown Black Zach Gentry Jersey , but I don’t buy that for a second. As far as I’m concerned, there are few players in team history more clutch in big moments than No. 84, and the number of times he’s come through with either a big catch or a big touchdown are just too numerous to document in this little article. But, again, I don’t have to live with Brown. Idon’t have to deal with a potential volcano erupting in 2019 and doing more damage to the Steelers Super Bowl chances than inserting Eli Rogers into the lineup ever could. So if you have to trade Brown, trade him, but, damn it, you better make it right. Apparently, the 49ers—particularly Jerry Rice—would love to have Antonio Brown come to their organization and catch passes from handsome Jimmy Garoppolo. Fine, but if I’m the Steelers, I want San Francisco’s premium first-round draft pick. None of this second-round pick business. As my brother tells me in every text involving a potential trade in whatever sport, “You gotta give to get.” Damn right, you do. As much as you might want to see Brown go, the chances of the Steelers being better off without him are pretty slim if they don’t get fair value in return. To sort of give what I said earlier a different twist, YOU don’t have to live with Antonio Brown. You don’t have to work with Antonio Brown. You don’t have to reason with Antonio Brown. And since you insist on putting your entire heart and soul into cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, you probably aren’t too eager to see a depleted edition in 2019. Therefore, shipping Brown off for anything below a first-round pick (and even that might be too low if the first-round pick belongs to a playoff team) is simply out of the question.Fortunately, unlike the fans, the Steelers aren’t in the business of making rash decisions. They are, however, in the business of winning. And if they don’t trade Brown away this offseason, they’ll still have the services of one of the NFL’s best play-makers next regular season. How will that work after everything that’s gone down? It’s way too early to know at this point. It’s amazing how a heart-to-heart conversation can really clearthe air and make things right. Speaking of making things right, if the Steelers really are thinking of shipping Brown off to the highest bidder, well, they damn well better make sure it’s the highest bidder. I’m certainly not in the business of watching inferior Steelers football in 2019.

Scouting the Broncos ahead of Raiders week two match-up in Denver Familiar Faces in Rival PlacesFormer Raiders offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave is in his second year as the offensive coordinator for the Broncos and is already on his second starting quarterback. Musgrave is a solid OC and puts the Broncos offense in position to make plays. In their season opener against the Seahawks this Broncos team employed nearly a perfect 50/50 run versus pass play call while amassing 470 total yards. They ran the ball 32 times for 146 yards Karl Joseph Jersey , and they passed the football 39 times completing 25 passes for 329 yards. Not too shabby. The OffenseCase Keenum is the new face under center for the Denver Broncos in a move that showed the complete lack of faith in former top pick QB Paxton Lynch. Despite a career year in which the journeyman veteran led the team to the NFC Championship game, the Vikings made an executive decision to sign Kirk Cousins and let Keenum walk.Keenum was hot and cold against the Seahawks. He completed 25 of 39 passes for 329 yards and 3 TD’s against a Ken Norton Jr. led Seahawk defense. He also threw 3 INT’s against that Norton led defense. You know, the same guy who was fired after his Raiders defense set a record by going 10 weeks without an interception. Not such an accomplishment, even if it was the great Earl Thomas III, fresh off a camp holdout and with just a week of practice under his belt. The safeties will have numerous opportunities to step in front of wide receivers and steal passes, because one thing Keenum doesn’t do well is look off the safety. He has a habit of locking in on his receivers and makes his intentions with the football known. Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas have been the Broncos receiver duo since 2014. Last season wasn’t particularly productive up to either of their standards. Much of that had to do with stopgap QB Trevor Siemian throwing them the ball.Against the Seahawks, Sanders caught 10 passes for 135 yards including a beautiful catch and sideline toe tap combined with 43 yard run, capped off with a front flip into the end zone for a touchdown. Thomas, didn’t miss out on the party as he came down with six receptions for 63 yards and TD.The receivers will be a factor that the Raiders must have a plan for. A route tactician in Sanders, a big physical monster in Thomas, along with talented rookie Courtland Sutton. The Raiders have the defensive backs to match up well with the Broncos. What will be imperative once again is the Raiders linebacking corp be quick to cover curl to flats. Also worth noting, Musgrave loves to draw up passing plays against cover-2 defense. Choosing to launch attacks on the safeties by forcing them to make a hi-lo decision. Philip Lindsay and Royce Freeman are a young prototypical thunder and lightning combination. The 5’8” Shilique Calhoun Jersey , 190-pound Lindsay is the scat back who took a 19-yard screen pass to the house last week. He also split carries with the 6’, 229-pound Freeman. They ran for the exact same carries and yards17 times for 51 yards (4.7 ypc). These two backs will be featured and ran early as well as often. Musgrave is a believer in using the run to set up the pass. It’s always Miller time on defenseI don’t know how Von Miller didn’t win AFC Defensive player of the week. He sacked the Russell Wilson 3 times, caused 2 fumbles, and danced all over the Seahawks backfield. Miller is the unquestioned leader of this defense and they will go as he goes. Fifth overall pick Bradley Chubb showed promise but they ask him to drop back in coverage and he really shouldn’t. Chubb wasn’t asked to do much pass coverage at NC State, but he is now. Chubb has all the talent in the world and it would provide the Broncos with the luxury of two dominant edge rushers at a fraction of the price of $141/M with $90/M guaranteed. I’m just saying. The defensive backfield was once the most dominant unit in all of football. Now they are a shell of their former selves much like the now former Legion of Boom. Chris Harris Jr. is a great corner who gives receivers fits, Bradley Roby is a question mark, to be honest. He needs to have a good season now that he’s in the spotlight and no longer the third guy. Adding wily veteran Adam ‘Pac Man’ Jones is a risky move that could help pay off. Russell Wilson, in between running for his life, and avoiding pass rushers was able to complete 19 passes for 298 yards 3 TD’s and 2 INT’s. The GameplanOpportunities for Derek Carr and Amari Cooper to reunite and reform AC/DC will be plentiful. The Broncos gave up touchdown passes of 51 yards to Tyler Lockett, 15 yards to Will Dissly (3 catches 105 yards 1 TD, from a primarily blocking tight end), and 20 yards to 34-year-old Brandon Marshall. To handicap Wilson further Connor Cook Jersey , Doug Baldwin his favorite target was injured early in the first half and did not return. Head coach Jon Gruden has called out his quarterback and let it be known early he won’t be handling missed opportunity with kid gloves. An educated guess would suggest that Cooper, Jordy Nelson, and recently re-signed Martavis Bryant will get many looks this week. Dissly was targeted five times, catching three passes; one for a touchdown, one that narrowly missed, and another. Jared Cook is coming off a career night and a franchise record-setting performance, could this be part deux? Should the Broncos commit Brandon Marshall the linebacker to help the safety, it will further compromise a run defense which has been suspect as of late. The run game was abandoned early against the Rams, it was abandoned and Carr was without the threat of a play-action pass nearly all game. Lynch and the offensive line came out cracking pads and taking it to the Rams early, then it just went away. This offensive line must impose their will on the Broncos’ defense and maintain the edge in time of possession which won’t be an easy task. Monday they officially re-signed Harris. The 8-year NFL veteran return man brings an invaluable savvy as both a return man and as a gunner. What he showed in his first season in Oakland was that he can make uncommon heads-up plays on the fly. Two plays in particular stand out from last season. One against the Chiefs in which he stepped out of bounds at the one to keep a ball from bouncing into the end zone, resulting in a penalty on the punting team that gave the Raiders the ball at the 40.The other was waiting for the Broncos’ coverage team to bat the ball back to keep it from being a touchback, scooping it up and returning it 99 yards for the score. He twice earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week last season and averaged an NFL best 14.1 yards per punt return which is the second best single-season mark in franchise history. For his career, Harris has played in 103 games for the Cowboys, Giants, and Raiders. As a returner, he has totaled 159 kickoff returns for 4,055 yards (25.5 avg.) and one touchdown in addition to 177 punt returns for 1,805 (10.2 avg.) and four scores. On offense, Harris has posted 76 receptions for 867 yards and eight touchdowns. Follow @LeviDamien

COLUMBUS Jack Roslovic Jersey Womens , Ohio — The Washington Capitals visit Nationwide Arena for the first time since they eliminated the Columbus Blue Jackets from the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs last season and the atmosphere most likely will be intense Saturday night. The two teams have picked up where they left off last season at the top of the Metropolitan Division. The Capitals (16-9-3) enter the second matchup of the season between the teams with one more point. When the teams met last month in Washington, the Blue Jackets (16-10-2) came away with a 2-1 victory. Another win in regulation would push Columbus to the top of the division ahead of Washington.Article continues below ...“Two teams fighting for first place in the division and two teams that play a pretty similar style of aggressive and skilled hockey,” Blue Jackets captain Nick Foligno told reporters on Friday. “So it should be fun.”The Blue Jackets open a six-game homestand hoping to get a streak going on home ice, where they’re just 7-5-1 this season. Their last home game resulted in a 9-6 loss to the Calgary Flames in a game that they were leading by three goals at one point.“We seem to be letting games slip away at home and its unacceptable,” Foligno said. But the Blue Jackets bounced back on Thursday night with a 4-3 overtime victory on the road over the Philadelphia Flyers.Columbus let a two-goal lead evaporate in the third period against Philadelphia, but defenseman Seth Jones quickly decided the outcome in overtime, scoring 10 seconds after the faceoff on an assist from teammate Cam Atkinson, who kept his 12-game point streak alive.Atkinson can tie a franchise record held by Ryan Johansen (Dec. 18 Scott Mayfield Jersey Womens , 2014-Jan. 17, 2015) with a point in a 13th consecutive games. In the last 12 games, Atkinson has 13 goals and seven assists. The Blue Jackets hope coach John Tortorella is on the bench for the game. He wore a hoodie on Thursday night in Philadelphia while experiencing chills from the flu and did not attend Friday’s practice.“He was so cold he was shaking,” Blue Jackets assistant coach Brad Larsen said, according to the team’s website. “It was like full-body tremors.”The Capitals experienced a similar situation to the Blue Jackets’ blown lead against the Flames when they gave up a four-goal advantage in a 6-5 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. Two days later, the Capitals lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in a Stanley Cup Final rematch but ended their brief two-game skid with a 4-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night, their first regular-season win in Phoenix since 2006.The Capitals played without wingers T.J. Oshie and Tom Wilson at the same time for the first time this season. Oshie has missed 10 games with an upper body injury and Wilson sustained a concussion on Tuesday night in the game against the Golden Knights.Andre Burakovsky stepped up and scored the tiebreaking goal late in the third period for the Capitals.“I think I’ve been playing good,” Burakovsky said Max Domi Jersey Womens , according to The Washington Post. “I’m doing all of the right things, if you really watch the game closely. I’m not drifting away from the game as much as I did maybe two years ago.“Even if I haven’t produced as many points as people expect or I expect from myself, I still think my game has been way better overall than in the past couple of years, so obviously that’s a good sign.”Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin extended his scoring streak to 10 games on an empty-net goal with 2.3 seconds remaining against the Coyotes. Ovechkin nine goals and five assists during the streak, and he’s tied for the NHL lead in goals with 21.“It was good for us to have a really solid third period,” Capitals coach Todd Reirden said. “That cost us the last couple of games and something we addressed and spread out some of the ice time so we could be a little stronger as the third period went on. I thought it was beneficial for us.”Nicklas Backstrom has 34 points in 28 games and John Carlsson ranks third among NHL defensemen with 29 points. DALLAS (AP) Rasmus Dahlin went first overall to the Buffalo Sabres, Commissioner Gary Bettman was booed relentlessly by the crowd all night and trade chatter didn’t amount to a whole lot of movement. With the exception of one trade by the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals, the first round of the NHL draft went off without many surprises. Only two players and a handful of picks were traded Friday night Richard Panik Jersey , leaving general managers hoping for more on Day Two.”That was kind of a boring first day or first round,” Philadelphia Flyers GM Ron Hextall said. ”It’s not typical for this day.”The Sabres picking Dahlin at No. 1 and the Carolina Hurricanes taking Russian winger Andrei Svechnikov at No. 2 got the draft itself off to a predictable start. Montreal taking Finnish center Jesperi Kotkaniemi third and Arizona going a bit off the board with center Barrett Hayton fifth allowed high-scoring Czech winger Filip Zadina to fall to Detroit with the sixth pick.”I’m telling my agent if they will pass on me, I will fill their net with the puck,” Zadina said. ”I want to prove them that they have done, like, bad decision.”Not a whole lot of big decisions happened Friday night at American Airlines Center. The Sabres taking Dahlin was automatic since they won the draft lottery in April, and the 18-year-old wore a Buffalo Bills hat Friday prior to the selection. Svechnikov got to try on the Hurricanes’ draft hat before he was the No. 2 pick just as general manager Don Waddell acknowledged recently.Dahlin is the second Swedish player to be taken No. 1 and the first since Mats Sundin in 1989. Sundin went on to a Hall of Fame career.”It’s pretty crazy actually,” Dahlin said. ”He’s a legend in the hockey world. It’s kind of weird but amazing.”GMs found it weird that there weren’t more trades consummated. A few teams swapped picks late in the first round http://www.officialsabres.com/authentic-adidas-jack-eichel-jersey , but the big shakeup came a half-hour before the draft when the Capitals traded veteran defenseman Brooks Orpik and backup goaltender Philipp Grubauer to the Colorado Avalanche for a second-round pick. The trade netted Washington the 47th pick but most importantly cleared significant salary-cap space to attempt to re-sign pending free agent defensemen John Carlson and Michal Kempny. MacLellan said he was close to getting a deal done with Carlson, so he had to prepare.”It’s hard to do, but we had to create some room to sign some players,” MacLellan said.Grubauer was the first domino to fall in what could be a fascinating goaltending market. Ottawa’s Craig Anderson is reportedly available, and Columbus might have to make a decision on Sergei Bobrovsky if like winger Artemi Panarin the two-time Vezina winner isn’t willing to talk about a contract extension with just a year left before free agency. The Capitals and Hurricanes discussed a trade for Grubauer that would’ve given Washington a higher second-round pick, but MacLellan opted to send the 26-year-old German to the Western Conference rather than giftwrap him for a division rival, and Colorado’s Joe Sakic was willing to take on Orpik’s salary to get Grubauer.”We knew the asking price was high and we had the cap room that we can give cap flexibility for us to not have to give up more than we did,” said Sakic http://www.officialflames.com/authentic-adidas-sean-monahan-jersey , who added he’ll look to trade Orpik or buy out the 37-year-old. ”We felt it was important to get Grubauer. We just like what he can do for us.”The Sabres love what they’re getting in Dahlin, who should spark the rebuilding process for a team that has missed the playoffs in each of the past seven seasons. The smooth-skating playmaker was considered the consensus first pick for more than a year.”It’s been a long waiting,” Dahlin said. ”You can’t really plan anything. Finally today I can plan my future. I love to call my new town Buffalo.”After co-owner Kim Pegula made some opening remarks, general manager Jason Botterill announced Dahlin as the top pick. In the corner of the arena, Sabres fans in attendance chanted, ”Dahlin! Dahlin!”Bills draft pick Josh Allen tweeted after the pick: ”Welcome to Buffalo (at)rasmusdahlin00! Can’t wait to watch you play, wings on me later this summer.”Dahlin will jump to the NHL right away and should help the club’s league-worst offense that contributed to its last-place finish. He had six assists in seven games at the world junior championships in Buffalo and put up 20 points in 41 games in Sweden’s top pro league this season.—AP Sports Writer Schuyler Dixon contributed to this report.—

College football’s postseason inches ever closer. After a Week 11 that had no blockbuster games but several really fun ones Youth Brian Poole Jersey , the picture’s getting just a bit clearer. The same disclaimer as every week goes here: Many, many teams win and lose every week, and this list is not exhaustive. Think of it as a list of extra big winners and losers. Winner: NorthwesternFinally, the world has smiled down on students and alums of this hardscrabble school. The Wildcats won the Big Ten West by beating Iowa and getting losses elsewhere from Purdue and Wisconsin. They will probably be a light snack for Michigan (or Ohio State, but probably Michigan) in the conference title game, but maybe they won’t be. Since an embarrassing home loss to Akron back in September, the only losses they’ve taken were by three to the Wolverines and by 10 (in what was a one-score game for a while) to Notre Dame. And this moment was really cool: Winner: OklahomaBedlam was extremely Bedlam in two ways: It was wild.Oklahoma won.The Sooners probably don’t control their own Playoff fate. But they’re still in the hunt and still better than the other half of this one-sided rivalry.Winner: Ohio StateThe Buckeyes played Michigan State with their Playoff hopes on the line and avoided losing because of Dark Spartan Magic. That alone is an achievement. Loser: Members of the broader viewing public who spent time watching Ohio State vs. Michigan StateThe ugliest “big” game of the year, bar none. It featured multiple horrible punts, shanked field goals, dropped passes and interceptions, and third-quarter intentional safeties somehow gone even more awry than those words suggest on their own. The Spartans did two cool things — one a 47-yard run by backup QB Rocky Lombardi that seemed to totally fool Greg Schiano’s defense, the other a wideout pass for a long touchdown, which an ineligible-man-downfield penalty in turn wiped out. All of us who sat through this sordid mess of a 26-6 Buckeye win are losers Youth Takkarist McKinley Jersey , except, of course, the winners themselves.Loser: TV networks, generallyThere were no marquee matchups, and only one Power 5 game turned out to be all that good. Speaking of that game ...Winner: TexasThere’s a solid chance it won’t get Texas into the Big 12 title game or anything, but the Longhorns won the day’s most exciting game on a REVERSE MICHAEL CRABTREE. That’s to say their winning touchdown in the final seconds at Texas Tech ... ... was the same exact play as Crabtree’s legendary score to beat them in 2008: I hope UT fans found some catharsis in that. I would have. Winner: Feleipe FranksThe Florida QB shushed his own booing home crowd multiple times. He also went 15-of-21 for 161 yards, a touchdown, no picks, and a 151 rating in beating Will Muschamp’s South Carolina in The Swamp.Franks even had a 38-yard punt. What brilliance. Loser: Kansas The Jayhawks came close to beating rival Kansas State in the last minute. Then quarterback Payton Bender forced a fumble against himself to seal a loss: Beating K-State with lame-duck coach David Beaty — whom the might school fired ahead of time just so he couldn’t save his job with a win here —would’ve been amazing. Winner: PittThe Panthers put a death grip on the ACC Coastal by running over Virginia Tech. They’ve won three of their last four, and of their four losses, three were against Penn State, UCF, and Notre Dame. (They also lost to 1-8 North Carolina Youth Calvin Ridley Jersey , because reasons.) Any Pitt win or Virginia loss the next two weeks clinches the division for Pat Narduzzi’s team and puts it in the league title game against Clemson, a team that, uh, might not be all that excited about that. Loser: Larry FedoraHe’s become a regular member of this bad half of this list. Bill Connelly writes: On the bright side, UNC beat Pitt earlier this year, and Pitt might just go ahead and win the ACC. How can you fire the only coach to beat the conference champ? (I’m kidding about Pitt winning the ACC. I think.) Winner: Jimbo FisherThe Aggies came from behind to avoid a loss to Ole Miss, which would’ve been their fifth of the year. Five losses was right where S&P+ projected A&M before the year, but it’s still probably for the best for Jimbo Fisher to not have five losses in his first 10 games after replacing a guy who got fired for perpetually going 8-5.Winner: Washington StateThe Cougars beat Colorado, 31-7. They were supposed to do that. It’s been established that the Buffaloes aren’t able to beat good teams. But it was still nice to see Wazzu, down 7-0 after a quarter, put on the jets and blow someone out on the road. The Cougs still need help, but with every week that passes, they become a more plausible Playoff team. Whether they sneak into the final four or not Womens Robert Alford Jersey , they look like an increasingly sure New Year’s Six team. Loser: MarylandThe Terps, who’ve been sitting on five wins for a few weeks, were driving toward bowl eligibility late in their game at Indiana. Down two, they got to the Hoosiers’ 48 with a minute left and a timeout to spare. Then quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome fumbled a game-winning chance away. Maryland now has to beat either Ohio State or Penn State to avoid missing a bowl for the second straight year. Neither will happen, so this one will sting. Their players still deserve credit for playing hard with all kinds of turmoil unfolding around them. Winner: Old DominionODU is 3-7 on the year. Its three wins: Over No. 13 Virginia Tech in the biggest spread upset of the season (28 points)Over WKU by way of the wildest end-of-game sequence of the seasonOver North Texas on Saturday, 34-31, after starting the game down 28-0The Monarchs are bad this year, but when they win, it’s fun as hell. They’ve packed more fun into three wins than plenty of teams will pack into eight or nine. Loser: Fresno StateEntering the week, the Bulldogs had a fair NY6 case, even if you granted that whoever wins the AAC is likely to take the Group of 5 auto-bid. Then they lost a weird, somewhat controversial game at Boise State. The New Year’s bowls are now out of the question for Jeff Tedford, and that’s a shame given how good Fresno’s been. Utah State is now the Mountain West’s lone New Year’s case Womens Ryan Schraeder Jersey , two weeks ahead of a huge game against Boise. Winner: CincinnatiThe Bearcats beat USF. They still have just one loss, and they play unbeaten UCF next week. Temple technically remains between Cincy and UCF in the standings due to a tiebreaker over Cincy, but if the Bearcats can beat the Knights and all of these teams otherwise win out, the AAC East would fall into some tiebreaker chaos. (You can try to figure it out here, but enough things can still change that it might be a futile exercise.) In short, though, if Cincy can beat UCF in Cincy, the Bearcats will have a decent shot at the division and thus an inside track to that New Year’s bid. Loser: NC StateThe Wolfpack, ranked 14th and still with a New Year’s Six bowl chance, had leads of 16-6 and 23-13 in the second half against Wake Forest. They blew all of that by giving up two touchdowns in the last 6:07 to drop a third game out of four, squandering the considerable good faith the Playoff committee had shown it after a blowout loss at Clemson and a narrower loss to Syracuse. NCSU’s now bound for a fine but mediocre season, as is its historical standard. Any hopes this year would be special are now dead. Winner: Face masks as protective equipmentYeah, that’s a ball bouncing like 26 yards off a dude’s face mask http://www.falconsfootballauthentics.com/julio-jones-jersey-authentic , setting up a scoop-and-score touchdown for Army against FCS Lafayette. I had no idea that was physically possible. I am equal parts bamboozled, awed, and giddy. Would you just look at this kinetic energy? It’s just tremendous. The Arizona Cardinals have apparently been keeping close tabs on the Atlanta Falcons this past week, and apparently they’ve been pretty excited about the cuts the Birds have been making. The Cardinals have reportedly come to terms with Brooks Reed, who was the final of Atlanta’s first wave of cuts this week. This comes just two days after it was reported that Arizona was signing Robert Alford to a three year, $22.5 million contract.Reed will be signing on with Arizona for $2 million this season, which seems like good value for someone who at the very least is an above average run defender, even if the sacks were never really there for the Falcons (7.0 sacks in four seasons).Reed is an Arizona native, who was born in Tucson and went to the University of Arizona before being drafted into the NFL. I’m just speculating here, but he might’ve taken a hometown discount to sign with the Cardinals. All in all, it’s always a nice story when someone gets to go home and play for his childhood city.Cardinals reporter Darren Urban expects Reed to slot in as a linebacker for Arizona — the position he played for the first five years of his career before Dan Quinn moved him to defensive end.

There wasn’t much good to say about Sam Bradford in his brief three weeks as an Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback.By nearly every metric Bradford struggled to put up even average numbers. If you needed any more reason to know that the Bradford was shot Youth Mason Cole Jersey , at least for the Cardinals, this nugget from ESPN should unequivocally show that.Bradford in 2018 was the second worst passer from the pocket. That’s supposed to be his bread and butter, where he thrived and why the Cardinals brought him in.However, through two games and three quarters, only the other big free agent signing from the Minnesota Vikings, Case Keenum, was worse. Not even rookies like Sam Darnold and Josh Allen Youth Larry Fitzgerald Jersey , who play for miserable teams and have struggled to get going, were as bad as Bradford. That’s where the Cardinals offense was under Bradford. Greetings Falcoholics! Because the Pro Bowl has been in Orlando http://www.authenticsatlantafalcons.com/cheap-jake-matthews-jersey , I’ve been fortunate enough to attend the “All-star” event. Sure, the players don’t tackle, and a lot of the top players (like Julio Jones) don’t actually participate, but it’s still a good time. Pro Bowl WeekPro Bowl Week kicks off at the nearby ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort where most of the festivities are held. They hold Pep Rallies, Play Football events, Pro Bowl Experiences, and of course the Pro Bowl Practices for the AFC and NFC. Honestly, this is where you have the most fun. Players are goofing off the entire time, and you get pretty close to them during the practices. They’ll walk over and sign for the fans and take pictures. The “Pro Bowl Experience” is held next to the practice, which has an interactive fan zone with fun activities for the whole family. Fans can do everything from run the 40-yard dash to meet up with some NFL mascots, such as Sourdough Sam of the San Francisco 49ers. They also have the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown where players showcase their athletic abilities in events such as dodgeball. ESPN’s NFL Live usually does a live broadcast at nearby Disney Springs, where my dad, his cousin, and I got to meet Herm Edwards after taping. I even got to appear on that episode. This was at the 2017 Pro Bowl and they handed out signs to hold for the NFL MVP candidates, so of course I held up a Matt Ryan one.TailgatingLike at every NFL game Black Terrell McClain Jersey , tailgating is a must do. The difference at the Pro Bowl is you have fans of all 32 NFL teams being represented, so you’ll see Packers and Vikings fans hanging out, Colts and Texans fans enjoying a beer, etc.The GameI must say, the Pro Bowl is something that must be experienced in-person. As you witness on television, the players barely tackle, the quarterbacks seem to have minutes when they snap the ball, it’s borderline pathetic effort. In person though, none of that matters. You easily get caught up in the moment of realizing the NFL talent before you, even if they aren’t really trying. During commercial breaks you’ll see mascot dance-offs and Odell Beckham Jr. dancing. In all seriousness, it’s a great time and I would definitely recommend attending the event, if given the opportunity. I’m not sure what the future holds for the Pro Bowl. I know in the eyes of many, it’s a waste of time and laughable at best, even if Austin Hooper scores in the rain. But it’s something I’ve always enjoyed watching growing up as an Atlanta Falcons fan. I always looked forward to watching my players out there interacting with guys from other teams. Also seeing Falcons’ players such as center Alex Mack getting the recognition they deserve, makes it all worth it in my eyes. Maybe they’ll keep it Black Brandon Fusco Jersey , maybe they won’t, but it’s NFL football players on a field, so I’m going to watch it.Well folks, that basically sums up my experiences attending the Pro Bowl. As always, you can find me on Twitter @EvanBirchfield, and make sure to follow our Instagram account @The_Falcoholic. Thanks for reading, and remember, the Saints blew a 13-0 lead in the NFC Championship. ATLANTA (AP) 鈥?Brett Maher got another shot on the final play of the game. This time, he made it count.Maher's 42-yard field goal as time expired Sunday gave Dallas a 22-19 victory over the Atlanta Falcons after the resurgent Cowboys squandered a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.A month ago, Maher clanked a 52-yarder off the left upright that would've forced overtime in a 20-17 loss to Washington. And he had to shake off a missed extra point earlier Sunday that gave the Falcons an opening to tie it up."I was confident," Maher said. "Every time I step on the field, the goal is to go one for one. Everyone in here is doing so much for our team. For the offense to be able to drive the ball down the field and get us in position again, and L.P. (snapper Louis-Philippe Ladouceur) and Chris (Jones, the holder) coming through like they always do, I was just happy to do my part."The Cowboys (5-5) have won two straight on the road and trail Washington by only one game in the NFC East after the division leaders lost at home to Houston Youth Vic Beasley Jr Jersey , 23-21. The teams meet on Thanksgiving Day with first place on the line."We've got a big one against as big a rival as there is in sports," Dallas owner Jerry Jones said. "We have a lot at stake there."Atlanta (4-6) dropped its second in a row and now faces long odds to reach the postseason 鈥?especially playing in the NFC South, where the Falcons trail New Orleans and Carolina."It's aggravating," cornerback Robert Alford said. "We've got to learn to finish games."Ezekiel Elliott had a huge day for the Cowboys in what was a defensive slugfest until a wild fourth quarter, with the teams combining for 26 points over the last 15 minutes. He had 122 yards rushing on 23 carries, including a 23-yard touchdown, and led the team with seven catches for 79 yards.Matt Ryan threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Julio Jones for Atlanta's only touchdown with 1:52 remaining to tie the game. But Dallas drove 51 yards in 10 plays,聽setting up Maher's winning kick as time expired聽.After a field goal battle between Maher and Atlanta's Matt Bryant left the Falcons with a 9-6 lead heading to the final period, Dak Prescott and Elliott scored on a pair of runs to push the Cowboys to a 19-9 lead.Grinding for every yard, Dallas needed 14 plays to cover 75 yards leading to聽Prescott's 4-yard scoring run after the quarterback faked a handoff to Elliott聽. Prescott had a couple of 17-yard passes 鈥?one to Amari Cooper, another to Cole Beasley 鈥?but no other play on the possession went for more than 5 yards.Maher hooked the extra point, however, leaving the Cowboys with a 12-9 lead. They quickly extended the margin. On Atlanta's next possession, Ryan threw a short pass to Calvin Ridley cutting over the middle. The ball was thrown a bit too hard, the rookie couldn't hang on and it聽ricocheted into the arms of Dallas linebacker Leighton Vander Esch聽. He returned his second interception in as many weeks 28 yards to the Atlanta 31."Some things happen so quick http://www.authenticsatlantafalcons.com/cheap-matt-bryant-jersey , just bang-bang plays, and you've got to be ready for them," said Vander Esch, a first-round pick of the Cowboys. "Sometimes, the ball bounces the right way."Two plays later, Elliott darted through a big hole up the middle, shook off Falcons safety Damontae Kazee at the 15 and聽powered in for the touchdown聽. Maher connected on this extra point, giving the Cowboys a 10-point lead with 12:26 remaining. It didn't hold up.Suddenly coming to life offensively, the Falcons quickly drove to the Dallas 3 before settling for Bryant's fourth field goal, a chip shot from 21 yards. The defense forced a punt, and Atlanta finally made it all the way to the end zone.Ryan lofted a pass to Jones,聽who somehow managed to come down with the ball despite tight coverage from Chidobe Awuzie聽. When Jones held the ball aloft to celebrate, Awuzie swatted it away in disgust. In the end, it was the Cowboys who celebrated.MONEY MATT RETURNSBryant resumed his duties as Atlanta's kicker after missing three games with a strained right hamstring. The 43-year-old looked as good as new, connecting on field goals of 41 Black Deion Jones Jersey , 45, 53 and 21 yards. He is 13 of 13 for the season, including four kicks of at least 50 yards."I got through everything OK," Bryant said. "Obviously, I'd rather have the win."INJURY REPORTThere appeared to be no serious injuries.Three Atlanta players went down with minor ailments: cornerback Desmond Trufant (thigh), Kazee (shoulder) and linebacker Duke Riley (neck). All were able to return.Dallas also had at least three players shaken up. Tackles La'el Collins and Tyron both left the game briefly, as did defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford.UP NEXTCowboys: This will be the second time in the past three years that Dallas has hosted Washington on Thanksgiving Day. In 2016, the Cowboys prevailed 31-26. Overall, Dallas leads the series 70-45-2.Falcons: Also have a short turnaround before playing Thursday night at division-leading New Orleans. Atlanta likely needs to win out to have any shot at making its third straight playoff appearance.

The last time the Eagles opened a season as NFL champions Authentic Frank Ragnow Jersey , it was 1960 and, well, who remembers what folks did then in Philadelphia? What they'll certainly do Thursday night at the Linc when the Falcons come to town is roar with approval at the site of the Lombardi Trophy and the championship banner. Fans will sing many, many choruses of "Fly Eagles Fly."And then the guys on the field will get down to business, defending the title they took away from New England last February. That defense will be difficult, particularly in the NFC, a stronger conference than the AFC."Quite honestly, it's going to be a great night from that standpoint," coach Doug Pederson says of the season opener. "The fans that are in attendance are going to be crazy and they're going to be excited. It's going to be great for the banner to be dropped in Lincoln Financial (Field). It's going to be a great atmosphere."I think with this football team, though, they understand this is a different season, it's a new team http://www.detroitlionsteamonline.com/sam-martin-jersey , new year. Typically this is the milestone used for first-year quarterbacks, representing a natural breaking point in the season for his team to make the change. Perhaps the same could be true for Kerryon Johnson just six weeks into his professional career. At first glance, the bye seemed to come at a time that was breaking up Johnson’s momentum, but perhaps it could be a good thing for the rookie running back. The Lions have been splitting the carries almost identically between him and LeGarrette Blount, so this might be the time the workload finally shifts. With a decent matchup on the slate, Kerryon Johnson is the Week 7 Defenses & Dragons Player of the Week.FantasyPros Ranking: RB18 (0.5 PPR)FanDuel Pricing: RB18 ($6500)Johnson has put up at least nine fantasy points in each of his last four outings, and he should have a good chance to do that again this week. The Dolphins have been a great matchup for running backs and have given up an average of 19.7 points to a team’s top back, with each player reaching at least 16 points. As expected in today’s NFL, many of these players were involved in the passing game. This is an area where Johnson is still growing Womens LeGarrette Blount Jersey , but eight targets in his last two weeks is a good sign. Blount will never be a factor in the passing game, so the role is Johnson’s to lose, especially since Theo Riddick is nursing a knee injury. Another reason to trust the young rusher this week is that Miami has played decently well against opposing receivers. Just one wideout (Jordy Nelson) has topped 15 points against them, and they have limited opposing quarterbacks and the passing game as a whole fairly effectively this season. It seems like every single week fans are waiting for Johnson to break out, but he is more likely to gradually gain timeshare than to take it all at once. He has performed better each week and faces a team that has ceded points to running backs all year. The public is starting to feel this potential as well, treating him as a mid-RB2. This should be the expectation for him going forward. Johnson should have a good outing against the Dolphins, and it could be the first of many big weeks to come.Prediction: 15 carries, 80 yards, 1 touchdown; 4 receptions, 20 yards; 18.0 fantasy points

Steve Wilks Taking Charge Over the past few weeks and days Benson Mayowa Jersey , we have read and heard many Cardinals’ fans question whether Steve Wilks has what it takes to be a successful NFL head coach. Being 0-3 puts any coach on the hot seat. However, as they say—-”when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Such appears to be the case with Steve Wilks. He has a vision of how he wants his team to play—-and he is 100% committed to that vision. The most difficult part for Steve Wilks right now is handling the awkward and tenuous situation of being the third in command on a leadership team. For those of you have been on a leadership team—-you know exactly what I am talking about. For example, I was once told by the headmaster of the school where I was the Varsity basketball coach that he didn't want me to play all 5 of my African-American players at the same time—-that is was bad PR for the school.I did not comply and left the school after the year was over. That is an extreme example for the sake of making a point. When Steve Wilks took the job he agreed to embrace Michael Bidwill’s and Steve Keim’s vision of moving the franchise forward—-which heavily involved stronger teaching from the coaches, far less finger pointing and name calling from the head coach, a more stable culture and a sizable emphasis on player development that includes motivating players with quirky personalities.Wilks was also privy to his bosses’ vision that even though the plan was to draft a QBOF, the present plan was to hire a veteran offensive coordinator and to sign two veteran QBs, one as a bridge starter for 1-2 years and the other as a 2 year backup. When Wilks was announced as the head coach he expressed his philosophy that all positions are open to competition and that as a result of the competition, “the best players will play.”As one looks at the NFL standings after three games, the Cardinals are the only team in the NFL that averages single digits in points per game at 6.6. This is during a time when record numbers of TDs are being scored around the league. The Cardinals’ point differential (-54) is by far the worst in the league. And they are a paragon of ineptitude in first downs (32) and 3rd down conversions (23.3%)—-last in the NFL in both categories. As a result Cheap Patrick Peterson Jersey , Wilks has faced many more heated questions from the Arizona media that his predecessor ever did—-he was grilled about the 3rd and 2 play call—-and he keeps getting asked if he has faith in Mike McCoy. Wilks is taking the high road publicly. He is defending his coaches and players to the media. But—-he is challenging his coaches and players behind the scenes. Wilks has said all along that he wants to find the players he can trust the most—-and that is precisely what he is doing, by shuffling the struggling players out in favor of sprinting other players in—-like he did when he subbed Gerald Hodges in for Deone Bucannon—-and now when he is turning the keys over to rookie Josh Rosen at QB and is working Bene Benwikere in at RCB.Because of the shuffling that Wilks has been doing on defense, the defense is getting stronger—-the performance of the defense is still not ultimately what Wilks envisions, but it is headed in that direction. What is most encouraging is how well CB Patrick Peterson has embraced Wilks’ defensive philosophy. Peterson has taken his game to a higher level this year—-and others are starting to follow. While you won’t see Wilks disparage a coach—-rest assured you won’t see stagnancy at the QB position or any position—-and you won’t see David Johnson standing on the sidelines with the game on the line ever again. What Wilks needs to find out asap is whether Mike McCoy can have a positive influence on Josh Rosen and, in doing so, whether McCoy can start to turn the offense in the right direction. The pressure is now on McCoy to produce. In an ideal world, Wilks would have loved to see Bidwill’s and Keim’s “retooling” vision come to fruition this year—-and Wilks would have loved to have seen former high draft picks such as Deone Bucannon and Brandon Williams play to their potential—-but Wilks is not the kind of coach who is going to settle for mediocrity or compromise his own values for the sake of appeasing a player or a boss. We can clearly see that today. The Cardinals are in flux right now—-but this kind of flux—-generated by an impassioned and determined head coach—-is a good thing. Wilks is committed to shuffling the deck until his Cardinals start raking in tricks and stacking up piles of chips.. I was wrong about the 2018 Arizona Cardinals.Granted, it wasn’t like I picked them to go to the playoffs or have a dominant offense or anything but I was wrong about the team’s upside.I simply looked at the purported talent on the team and figured that a 6-10 record seemed about right for the team.I liked taking the over for a 5.5 win total, and fortunately decided to not put down money on it, unlike some Cardinals fans I know who are out of a few bucks now.I rejected the obvious idea of Bradford/McCoy/an injury prone offensive line killing the offense just as much as Mike McCoy slept-walked through his latest OC job even worse than his last trip in Denver.I liked a healthy David Johnson being back for the team Cheap Josh Rosen Jersey , not figuring that in a new offensive scheme he would take a step back and struggle to acquire burst and shake tackles in his return from missing the majority of 2017 with a broken wrist.I liked what I saw from the defense in the preseason, and thought that Wilks’ goal of single gaps could help the defense get Chandler Jones rushing the passer more and adding more coverage for Patrick Peterson might actually be a benefit if Wilks could coach up a partner across from him.I liked what I saw Mike McCoy run in training camp, featuring some 5-wide splits from David Johnson and Chase Edmonds (which was my biggest concern that he wouldn’t use him properly) including a play with Johnson catching a ball out of the backfield as a fullback...I had been warned about his lack of adapting too.I liked the pick of Josh Rosen, but have been wrong on how ready he was in terms of handling a complex, difficult NFL offense without adequate coaching to help his footwork and in reading an NFL defense. And I thought that coaching wasn’t as important as long as you had a franchise quarterback.I liked that Steve Keim seemed to own up to his mistakes in the offseason and quickly showed regret and didn’t estimate that there was a possibility that his own hypocrisy in finding men of “character” for his team might affect the team on a leadership level. I bought into the idea that this coaching staff was going to “fix” the issues we saw last year under James Bettcher and Amos Jones and that a new voice might take a step forward, not a step back. And ultimately I bought into the idea that Steve Wilks could be a leader of men and a good hire for the team after the hire got nothing but words of praise around the NFL for AZ not passing on a minority head coach that got the admiration of many when it was made official.I can swallow my pride and admit to all of this, take it in and change the way I view evaluating now that I can look back and see the warning signs.I can admit when I’m wrong. And that very fact might instantly make me more qualified to be the Head Coach of the Arizona Cardinals than their current one in Steve Wilks.Do I have the football requisite knowledge?Nope. Is a 26-year old self-professed drama geek going to be any sort of leader of grown men?Nada. But unlike the same Steve Wilks that has preached the exact same message since Week 1 of the 2018 season as he did in Week 14, I’m at least willing to look in the mirror, admit when I’m wrong, and make a change.Compare it to this interview at the start of the year....identical Cheap Christian Kirk Jersey , no?That’s the same rhetoric of placing blame on the players for his own mismanagement of the game. There’s no other way to say it.Cardinals fans know it.Even the players do too, I’d wager.Ego’s always a factor in the NFL but rarely does it get so out of control that it gets in the way of winning.Wilks himself even has had his philosophy and methods questioned and he’s even told media: “I know what you’re saying, but I’m not going to change it.”Basically, he’s preferring to do things his way and keep losing rather than admit that his own philosophy is wrong. To put it another way, if Wilks was the captain of the Titanic, he’s preferring to go down with his ship after it hits the iceberg saying “This ship is unsinkable” and will bring down as many women and children with it.And for all the talk about him being “a good and decent man” or a “leader” no good captain will ever put himself over the rest of his crew, and in that regard I think we were probably wrong about Wilks the human being as well. And being dishonest with yourself might be the most cowardly act of all....a new captain is needed if the passengers and crew are to be saved.Does it mean mutiny? No, but it means that Wilks himself has disqualified himself from being the head coach of this team.I wish him the best moving forward as he and the Cardinals head toward an inevitable divorce, and hold him no ill will. But perhaps this has been as valuable a learning lesson for Michael Bidwill, and probably Steve Keim Jamar Taylor Jersey , as it’s been for me in being a bit humbled as well.Finding a flexible, humble head coach in practice, not just talk, will be exactly what this Cardinals team needs and they shouldn’t hire another to be their next head coach without it.I’m just glad that won’t (nor shouldn’t) be someone like me.I have enough of that humility at least for that, too.Just to be content to sit in the spectator seat of the high-stakes poker table that is the National Football League. You can follow @blakemurphy7 on Twitter.

The Houston Texans began the season 0-3 despite high expectations. They've now won four in a row http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-marcus-gilchrist-jersey , and those high expectations have returned.Miami had a good start, going 3-0, but now has faltered and stands 4-3 with an uncertain situation at quarterback.Things are looking up for AFC South leader Houston, and aren't nearly so bright for the Dolphins, who live in the same neighborhood as New England, the AFC East.Houston, No. 12 in the AP Pro32, is a 7陆-point choice over No. 18 Miami."Nobody wants to be 0-3," Texans coach Bill O'Brien says. FLOWERY BRANCH http://www.atlantafalconsteamonline.com/jake-matthews-jersey , Ga. (AP) — Bruce Irvin has wanted to play for the Atlanta Falcons since he was a kid.Now that the seventh-year pass rusher is back home and about to make his Falcons debut, Irvin said he won't take this opportunity for granted. It's a rebirth for a 31-year-old who acknowledges he made bad decisions as an Atlanta teenager and now gets a chance to rewrite his local legacy. "Yesterday it hit me a little bit," Irvin said Thursday. "I know that I look scared but I really was crying yesterday, this is a childhood dream for me. Growing up, watching Michael Vick, and guys like Terance Mathis … this was always my dream so for me to be able to come and live it out it was a surreal moment and I'm just very fortunate to be an Atlanta Falcon right now."Irvin was cut last Saturday by Oakland, part of a housecleaning with the rebuilding Raiders. He cleared waivers and was a free agent with offers from several teams. He never doubted where he wanted to land."My agent said, ‘You know everybody thinks you're going to Atlanta,' and I said under my breath, ‘Well, they're right,'" Irvin said. "So it was no comparison, man. My family is here. My wife is from here. It was a childhood dream."Irvin said life passed him by growing up in nearby Stone Mountain. He watched friends from Stephenson High School — Perry Riley, Kelvin Sheppard and Jermaine Cunningham — focus on their football careers while he was getting having run-ins with law enforcement and constantly putting himself in danger."I was out in the streets doing stuff, and those guys were getting four-year scholarships to Florida and LSU and it hurt me," Irvin said. "It hurt me seeing those guys go off, and I was just around here doing God knows what. It was a motivating factor. Look at me now. I outlasted Perry and Jermaine (in the NFL). Sheppard just got on so, but it was a motivating factor. I'm glad that I figured it out and got my head on straight."Irvin returned recently to Stephenson to meet with current students and offer some advice."Like I said, I never played at Stephenson," he said. "I didn't play football since the ninth grade and I didn't play for six years. Going back there and letting those young guys know that anything is possible. You can be in the worst situation and if you surround yourself by the right people and not around a bunch of yes-men, you can make it around anything. So that was the biggest thing."Now Irvin gets to show what he can do on the field. Before his first practice with the Falcons on Thursday, Irvin wanted to show his new teammates he can still be a force in disrupting the quarterback.Irvin will wear jersey No. 52 when the Falcons (4-4) take a three-game winning streak to (2-6-1). He intends to help Atlanta improve a pass rush that ranks 27th in sacks."I think I bring a lot of swagger, a lot of attitude Authentic Keanu Neal Jersey ," Irvin said. "I speak my mind. I talk a lot of mess. Just running around having fun, man. That's the biggest thing in this league. If you're not having fun, it doesn't take you a long way. Me just bringing energy and knowledge to these guys. Just being the best Bruce Irvin I can be every day."The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Irvin was a first-round draft pick for Seattle out of West Virginia in 2012. He played four seasons with the Seahawks and two-plus with the Raiders, and had 40 sacks. His 15 forced fumbles over that span lead the NFL."Me and DQ can't dwell on what we did in Seattle, going to the Super Bowl and things like that," Irvin said. "It's more about right now and I feel like they needed me. I wanted to be here. I did what I had to do. We made it happen." One of the benefits of the holiday season is that you can slow down and reflect on the year that just passed, and with hindsight and time comes some form of clarity. I now realize that eating an entire cookie tray of nachos paired with a tumbler of whiskey was a huge mistake, and I now realize that the relative success of the 2016 and 2017 seasons quickly conditioned me to drink too deeply of the well when it came to the Falcons. The truth is, the Falcons were too thin, too reliant on a handful of stars on defense, and too prone to boneheaded mistakes. The injuries took them from the kind of contender we were expecting (albeit likely a frustrating one) to a pretty bad team, but their issues ran deeper than that. They were woeful for a long time on their offensive line, with Zane Beadles and Ty Sambrailo actually stabilizing things. The pass rush they thought would materialize after parting with Adrian Clayborn and Dontari Poe took forever to actually show up. And some veterans the team had come to count on, like Robert Alford and Ryan Schraeder, were pretty massive disappointments in 2018. Had the Falcons gotten themselves to 8-8 or 9-7, perhaps not much would have changed. Perhaps they would have still canned Steve Sarkisian but kept Marquand Manuel, or even vice versa, but that feels like it’s probably off the table now. The Falcons lost five games in a row in horrific fashion after clawing their way to 4-4, and that’s the kind of streak that a team with preseason Super Bowl aspirations and plenty of rhetoric about having the right guys in the building cannot endure. Ending the season with three wins in a row would do only a little to mitigate that, and would change nothing about the evaluations ahead for Dan Quinn. And make no mistake: This is Dan Quinn’s offseason, for good or ill.The winds of change Atlanta’s not going to be able to stand pat for many reasons, but one of them is simply the way they’ve gone backwards. As Jeff Schultz wrote in The Athletic Authentic Vic Beasley Jersey , you don’t go from Super Bowl team to playoff team to 7-9 or 6-10 by accident, and some of the moves this front office and coaching staff have made over the last two years simply haven’t worked out. I’m not sure Sark is this offense’s biggest problem—the line is, if you’re scoring at home—but he’s only intermittently been able to work around that and it was a surprising and controversial hire for Quinn to begin with. Manuel can defend himself in fiery fashion and has, but if Quinn isn’t feeling sentimental, presumably he’ll sweep out his defensive coordinator after the defense has only enjoyed short stretches of glory amidst average-at-best play. Heck, Keith Armstrong has been around forever but continues to trot out the sorriest return game imaginable, which is particularly galling when you see that Andre Roberts is a Pro Bowl returner for the Jets. Both line coaches are likely to take heat inside the building for the lack of development on those units, and may well be out the door as well. At this point, I wouldn’t entirely rule out a front office shakeup to go with those changes. This team has loaded their FO with former general managers, and while Arthur Blank has indicated that Thomas Dimitroff is not in any danger of being booted to the curb, the same is not necessarily true of Scott Pioli or Ruston Webster or any of the others. This team really nailed personnel decisions for a couple of seasons, but despite a great 2018 class, some of those old draft classes aren’t looking so magical now. Expect the same folks at the top, but changes underneath. Quinn is the only one who is safe, per just about every rumor and report I’ve seen, heard, and otherwise caught wind of. This offseason will be a pivotal one for him because it’s likely that he’ll have an enormous amount of say over where this team goes in the draft and free agency once more, but Quinn will also be under pressure to deliver better results. If 2019 stinks, he’s probably gone. If 2019 is even mildly disappointing, 2020 will be his make-or-break year. The clock is ticking and there can’t be any more 2017 draft classes or 2018 free agent classes or time’s going to be up. He’s going to need to surround himself with people willing to challenge him, capable of coaching up and developing players, and making better decisions on gameday. Period. A changing rosterThat also means the roster is going to change. For reasons of cap space and continuity, the Falcons tried to keep their roster largely intact heading into 2018 http://www.atlantafalconsteamonline.com/andy-levitre-jersey , but that didn’t work out on several fronts. The team could free up millions upon millions in cap space if they cut or re-structure disappointing players like Robert Alford and Ryan Schraeder, and they’re likely to let suddenly injury-prone players like Derrick Shelby and Andy Levitre walk. Those are the easiest decisions, but there are tougher ones. Are we expecting the Falcons to give up entirely on Vic Beasley, Dan Quinn’s first ever draft pick and a man who put up a league-high numbers of sacks in 2016? You have to think the team will at least try to get him to stay at a more palatable contract number after a pretty putrid 2018 season, given that his $12.8 million fifth year option is only guaranteed for injury. Do they keep around Brooks Reed, who has value but is being paid like a high-end rotational player when I’m not sure he is? Heck, do they even keep Brandon Fusco, who was ho-hum for several games before going down with an injury that could linger into 2019? The answer to these questions will vary based on the player, but with shakeups to the staff coming, it doesn’t feel at all irresponsible to think that the Falcons will be making some significant changes to their roster. They’ll actually have the money to do so this year. What does that change mean? An interesting offseason, at minimum. More importantly, it could mean that the Falcons will confront their failings head-on for a change and make the changes necessary to fix them, something I think we’re all clamoring for now. For some fans, there will be frustration all offseason long over the fact that Dan Quinn is still here, but all can be forgiven if Quinn presides over the kind of effective offseason that gets this team firmly on track.Frankly, that’s what has to happen. The team can no longer neglect the offensive line, try to replace effective players with unready or stopgap options, and allow coaches who can’t extract better performances from the players they’re working with to linger. The past decade has brought unprecedented success for this franchise, but they still have a nasty habit of falling short of what they might have been. This offseason will feature change because with an Atlanta United championship in Arthur Blank’s pocket, Dan Quinn’s job security significantly less stable than it was back in August, and a season of disappointing results that caught the Falcons entirely off-guard, change is the only sensible and non-ruinous way forward.

The New Orleans Saints travel to US Bank Stadium Sunday night to take on the Minnesota Vikings in a rematch of the “Minneapolis Miracle” game from last year’s playoffs. The entire week Detroit Lions Hats , media coverage in the Saints locker room has surrounded the narrative of a revenge game, but the Saints have strictly denied it. The defender at the center of that play, Marcus Williams, faced a slew of such questions, but to everyone he answered Detroit Lions Hoodie , “It’s just another game.” Nobody is buying that. Earlier this week on ESPN’s NFL Live it was reported that the feeling inside the Saints’ locker room is that they won that playoff game and were robbed of their right to advance. If that’s even somewhat true, expect a fiesty Saints team on the field tonight. New Orleans enters this game at 5-1 while the Vikings are 4-2-1; both have their eyes on a championship run. It’ll definitely be an uphill battle for the latter, however, as their team is getting hit by the injury bug pretty badly. Tonight’s inactives for the Vikings include notable names like Xavier Rhodes, Dalvin Cook Youth Customized Detroit Lions Jerseys , Andrew Sendejo, Anthony Barr, and Riley Reiff. If the Vikings want a chance at a win tonight, it’ll take some real stepping up from the backups for those inactives. Will the Saints come out firing? Can Marcus Williams get redemption for the Minneapolis Miracle? Will it even be a close game this time around? Let us know what you think in the comments.Detroit Lions linebacker Trevor Bates makes PFF’s All-Preseason team When the Detroit Lions cut their roster down to 53 players, there were plenty of fans who went scrambling to look up who linebacker Trevor Bates was. The 2016 seventh-round pick by the Colts didn’t show up on many training camp observations www.lionsauthorizedshops.com , and he didn’t make any big eye-popping plays in the preseason. Yet the 25-year-old linebacker made the team over veteran Jonathan Freeny, who was regularly repping ahead of him in camp.So why did Bates make the team? Pro Football Focus offered some clarity after they announced their 2018 NFL All-Preseason Team. Bates actually made the squad, but not as a linebacker. Rather, Bates earned a phenomenal 90.7 grade at special teams according to PFF.“Bates saw playing time in five of the six special teams phases for the Lions this preseason, including 18 snaps on punt or kick coverage Detroit Lions Womens T-Shirt ,” PFF’s Gordon McGuinness wrote. “From those plays, he registered four tackles, tied for second-most in the NFL this preseason.”Midway through the preseason, the Lions lost Steve Longa for the year due to a torn ACL. Longa was one of the team’s better special teams players last season. Now it appears that role belongs to Bates, and based on his preseason performance Detroit Lions Hats , he may be a pretty darn good replacement. UPDATE WELP: The Lions have waived Trevor Bates. However, he could return to the team’s practice squad.

Earlier in the week Cheap Darius Slay Jr Jersey , we learned that Jake Rudock moved on from the Detroit Lions, not vice versa. On Friday night, we learned of Rudock’s new opportunity in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins signed the Lions’ former sixth-round pick to a futures deal. It’s a good landing spot for Rudock, who just couldn’t seem to get in the mix for the Lions’ backup quarterback job in his three seasons in Detroit. Miami currently only has one quarterback signed for the 2019 season—starter Ryan Tannehill. Backups Brock Osweiler and David Fales are set to become free agents in March and with an entirely new coaching staff joining the Dolphins Youth Kenny Golladay Jersey , Rudock will get a fresh opportunity to impress and potentially reboot his NFL career. With the Lions, Rudock one made one regular season appearance—completing 3-of-5 passes for 24 yard and an interception. In three season’s worth of preseason games, Rudock completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 5.9 yards per attempt, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions.Report: Detroit Lions CB Darius Slay clears concussion protocol Youth Taylor Decker Jersey , may play vs. Patriots As of Friday afternoon, Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay’s status was quite unclear. He was officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Patriots after suffering a concussion last week. Because he was a limited participant in Friday’s practice, it seemed unlikely he would pass through the entire concussion protocol before game day. However, after Friday’s practice he met with media—bright lights and all—which seemed to leave open the possibility that he could clear in time. That’s exactly what has happened Youth Christian Jones Jersey , according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:So that means Slay is eligible to play against the Patriots on “Sunday Night Football,” but as Schefter notes that doesn’t mean he will play. The Lions could decide to give him another week’s rest to play it on the safe side, which would be completely understandable given the serious nature of concussions. Of course, the Lions could certainly use his help on Sunday. When Tom Brady is in town www.detroitlionsteamonline.com , you’d love to have all hands on deck, and who knows what this Patriots offense will look like if Josh Gordon makes his New England debut? If the Lions decide to hold Slay out, they did sign DeShawn Shead earlier in the week for depth purposes. We’ll have to wait until 90 minutes before kickoff (approximately 6:50 p.m. ET) to see if Slay is active or not.
